I got hacked on cryptopia, by a software "bot trader" that it was a keylogger, he transfer all my coins to this user...

I mean I asked in the official webchat, if there was like an official Bot_Trader that people use, but that was like 2 days before the hack.

Depending on what type of remote access tool he used, I might be able to reverse engineer it and get his credentials out of it. Many amateur tools use hardcoded credentials in order to exfiltrate keylog data.

Please zip up the EXE and upload it to something like Mega or Filedropper then please share link here. If it's a RAT I know how to work with like PredatorPain, Hawkeye, AgentTesla, and a few others I'll have it done by tonight.

Was excited to rip apart a malware sample but this could have very well been a LARP. I'm not seeing any samples within the entire FireEye, Cisco, or CrowdStrike malware database that include Cryptopia in the file name. I did find a very recent trade bot sample that's been involved in some heavy malware-distribution-as-a-service which included phishing methods like that. Let me break it down. So let's say you get infected with a RAT that has some form of keylogging functionality or it dumps cached passwords from browser AppData. That data has to somehow get exfiltrated back to the attacker yes? The post common four ways I've seen are:

- Sent as an HTTP POST request to a webserver that is controlled by the hacker
- Sent via IRC as a message or a chat program that supports webhooks like Discord to the hacker
- Sent via FTP to a server controlled by the hacker
- Sent via SMTP to a mailbox controlled by the hacker

The later of the two methods require credentials. You can't just send an email without authenticating with a mail server right? (Let's ignore open relays) this is why an email/password combo chosen by the attacker has to be stored in RAT itself if he uses this method. Likewise this is the cheaper method. Unlike method 1 a mailbox does not require buying or compromising a webserver. Hope that makes sense,
