isn't Macron a free market guy?
he won't bend over backwards to please those lazy unionfags, right?

Good for them. Wish we had the same attitude.

Feels good to be in the midwest and able to afford to live alone

Unions are fucking children. Why the fuck should those people who drive the train get paid more? In 5 years you will all be replaced by self-driving trains. Similar thing is happening in my country where teachers are about to strike because they want to get paid during their lunch time.
Then again America is fucked up too because of lack of unions and the mentality that workers rights are communist. We need a middle ground

Be honest, would you ever want to be a teacher? I don't think you could pay me enough to do that shit work desu.

This. Dutch economic growth and real wage growth don’t match up at all and we only have maybe 3 strikes per year.

We do have unions tho m8.

Except for half the states that ban unions

Notice how it's only yanks and other capitalist anglo shitholes pushing for automatization? It's because capitalists couldn't give two shits about running a country, for a capitalist the only goal is to make as much profit with as little effort required.

Automatization is a huge fucking meme especially considering the world is running out of rare metals required to make those complex machines.

>wahhh give us free stuff

They are always striking, last time I was there the museum workers were on strike, I walked into the Louvre for free

>that last paragraph
Lollll.
I live in the tri state area.

We live in a time of economic growth again. Most economies have recovered beyond 2007 levels but so far most wages and labour conditions are still stuck at 2008 levels.
Employers love to take things during recessions “we’re all in this together!” but have fun getting them back

It's actually kinda funny but there's actually a teacher's strike going on in West Virginia because a 5% raise isn't good enough for some of the worst teachers in the nation. Also it's not really spoken of but the teacher's union is corrupt as fuck and the dept of education is fucking trash.

>fpbp
It makes no sense, and is nowhere near reality, but I guess for Jow Forums it would be a good post

I had to take an uber instead of trying their subway when i went to paris. Fuck I wanted to try a comfy european subway

Paris subway is where you lose your faith in the western world

You didn't miss anything, the metro is stinky, super stinky.

French high speed trains are awesome, Thalys or TGV or something like that

Humans will be more efficient in 99% of all cases, the only thing a machine wouldbeat a human is that a machine is more cost efficient, but this comes at the expensive of requiring more natural resources and pollution.

Unions are necessary in fields where the state or private entities have monopolies. Otherwise the free market cannot correct the poor pay by having people change jobs because all the jobs for that skill are provided by a monopoly holder.
This is a big problem for medics in poorer countries and is part of why they leave at a much higher rate than other specialists.
That's not to say unions can do no wrong in those cases, but it's better to have them from a fairness perspective.
I don't it's ok to tolerate a natural monopoly without tolerating unions.

Unions are not banned in any state, the ban is on forcing you to join them

>be american
>never go anywhere, because you're too fat

>Automatization is a huge fucking meme

How?
I work in industrial automation, what rare materials?

Based comrades. American attitudes to worker right's are disgusting. Here's they are a major part of law.

Your teachers are paid less than minimum wage here and live off food stamps. No shit you have terrible teachers, it's a viscous cycle

At least you have that, tech it's the same here but unions bully you to join otherwise they "convince" the employer not to hire you

>Your teachers are paid less than minimum wage

My wife makes $70k a year as a teacher, does reality ever come into play here?

Actually that's untrue everywhere, here they're paid around 60-70k a year excluding benefits and don't have to work during the summer.

No?
It is anglos who complain about robotisation, for 2 reasons. They don't have a social safety net that let them find another job peacefully, and higher studies being expensive, they limit their number of qualified people, making non-qualified jobs more competitive and needed.
Germany loves robotisation and it went okay.

I think it's 155 school days, not sure, but average is $58k.

It might be a little low considering most have masters degrees, but the summer thing

The French are socialist lemmings much like the rest of the brown belt.

Depends on the state
Oklahoma is paid 30-40k with a 30% drop in funding and shit pension

It's not like they're all leaving to texas or havinf 50k people striking for nothing

good lad

Does that include their benefits though, cause my buddy is a teacher and the benefits he gets total to around 12k a year. Though regardless that is low for a masters, but I mean it's not like you can't get a different job with a masters that pays more unless you like dealing with kids I guess.

they're not asking to be paid more, they're asking to not be paid less

>tfw no big ass anarchist/communist revolutionary unions like in the 20s/30s

>Does that include their benefits though
I'm not sure how to figure those, but we use her healthcare plan, not mine.
Also she can retire at 47.

Trash collectors were on strike when I went a few years ago. Lovely piles of trash everywhere

The fuck are you on about? Rent is dirt cheap in this country. The cost of living in general is significantly lower than in France.

I was trying my own apartment while working part time in college.

>Parisian subway
>comfy
Yeah, no. It's useful though.
Anyway...Macron will not back down. If he backs down now, he won't be able to do anything in the next 4 years. SNCF are really lazy shits though (t. made an internship there), especially the train drivers. They still have 20th century advantages. If only the service was good, people would not complain, but it's shit. Trains are always late/cancelled/whatever. Yes unions are important, but unions in France are way too powerful.

Just fire them already. Hire new people with slight raises.
Do you guys not have Uber in France?

Depends on where you live, my friend is southern cali needed 3 roommates in order to afford rent in a two bedroom apt and all 3 were working full time

*is in

>. If only the service was good, people would not complain, but it's shit.
what makes them shit is cost reduction and the perspective or privatisatio, what people are currently striking against.

Cost reduction is a must. Cost are high because the SNCF is badly managed/management can't do shit because of unions, a bit of both. It's not like the government can spend endlessy to keep the SNCF alive. Plus as a customer you have to pay too, so you pay twice, actually. Fuck them and bring in the competition. They'll have to adapt or die.

Keep being a slave for Porky, Jim
