Your country
Pick up trucks: do they exist in your country? Who drives them?
Canada
Yes
Everyone in the west and half of everyone in the east. Not sure about Quebec tho.
Why do West Canadians enjoy pick up trucks more than East Canadians?
Westerners mostly all come from histories of being independent and individualist workers like farmers or ranchers, so the capabilities of a pickup really appeals to the philosophy of the culture. Easterners tend to be more collectivist in their thinking, so they don't really care to get a pickup as long as they know somebody else who has one. Also westerners are more into DIY stuff.
I saw a Ford F-250 today with a import license plate.
Other than that only at my work they have some unregistered Hiluxes for moving stuff around at the compound but nowhere on our roads you'll find pick ups.
Sweden
Yes.
It's mixed. Workers, fans of older American cars etc.
A normal day I see maybe 10-15 pick up trucks.
>Westerners mostly all come from histories of being independent and individualist
>Also westerners are more into DIY stuff.
I love this philosophy.
In the USA it has become a huge meme though with people living in generic suburbs living generic lives that drive trucks to remind them their great-grandfather used to work with his hands.
>when a foreigner likes your home
Luckily, that hasn't happened here that much yet. Most workers you meet are still industry tradesmen or rural labourers.
Pick up trucks are used by tradesmen usually, carpenters and such, like maybe 1/5 of the cars on the road are pickups
They exist, but I don't see them often. Mostly people who live in the countryside. It's practical since you can move shit around that you wouldn't even need in a city.
They exist
Most are owned by VW employees here in my opinion.
And some hunters, civil engineers, farmers and people who use large trailers.
Most have a reason to use them. But there is a minority of US fan boys who compensate their small penises
Yes
Actually people who use them for work, farmers, construction workers. They are less popular than vans though. I also saw a couple of RAMs here, but they are cringy as fuck. Most of the trucks are cheaper and way less luxurious than the american ones.
Are Swedish roads large?
Do you know why you Westerners are more individualist and independent than Easterners though?
they exist but only in the form of the Toyota Hilux and they're only owned by farmers or builders
they also usually have one of those things over the back of it that makes it basically a van
Eastern Canada's history lies mostly in colonial trading companies, so people over there got very used to working for the government and big businesses. The cultural influence of that makes them much more prone to relying on external powers, so they'll do stuff like buy a small car for commuting and just rent a big van for when they need to carry things.
Westerners were just given land and left to their own devices for a few generations, so everybody got used to relying mostly on themselves and their direct companions like friends and family. This made us much more proactive in being ready for stuff just because we were rarely able to get help from anybody else.
We have a lot of suburban cowboys, but the majority still use trucks for their purpose - either for work or play. In the Midwest though, if you don't have a truck it basically means you're gay.
>Are Swedish roads large?
idk maybe
Yes
Mixed, but american ones are used in the cities, and farmers mostly use japanese ones
Yes, filthy provincianos use them to do their filthy works in their filthy provinces.
Thank you for the elucidation.
Do you mean that everybody in Chicago own a pick up truck?
They are average.
>do they exist in your country?
Some oddly question. In russia mostly uses gazelle - pic related - by rednecks. This one can have a worth from 50 000 rubles (800$ average). In cities more smarter redneck prefer american or japanesse pickups. Not for carrying, just for nothing. After Obama's sanctions Japan stopped sell good cars to russia and the last opportunity for them - secondhand trash from Japan and USA
yes
In the normal car market they basically only exist for people who want to be American
however now the defender is ded farmers use them, and tradies/companies use them instead of vans for jobs that need off-road ability
I live in Montana, which is a western state that's right on the Canadian border. Nearly everyone has a truck, even if they don't technically need it for anything.
There are some benefits to having a truck in winter for sure, especially with 4WD, bad roads and having to go through large snowdrifts it's nice to have a vehicle that has more clearance than an AWD audi or subaru.
Yes. Basically what he sayed. Overall there are very few around.
Texan here
Depending on location it’s either a country boy or hipster
You can tell how they drive
Here cops also use trucks so it’s always paranoia
Quebec here, its faily common, especially in rural areas
why are all your utes so monged looking
Looks like some mexican beanboy shit to me, ese
mostly people who have to haul shit for a job or stuff like fourwheelers. some pricks have them just because they like to show off but there aren't that many of them
God I wish we had those here
Police forces use pick-ups in your country?
Here is really common to see police pick-ups
That’s not even close to being true.
>bad roads
For sure?
Hicks and wannabe hicks
D-do they?
When the Russians nearly killed those people I noticed the Salisbury police were using one
>Pick up trucks: do they exist in your country?
Yes.
>Who drives them?
Me, sometimes.
early 90s F-150?
Police in my city (Tigre) use them a lot, they have a stretcher and traffic cones to cut the street.
Lot of people have them to pull snowmobiles, boats, quads or horse trailers, everyone who hunts has one because you don't want to put dead animals in your car/suv and need the clearance and 4wd for back roads, every rancher and farmer has one for hauling things/pulling trailers and bad roads.
'91 baby.
Also every contractor has either a truck or van
Until 10 years they were pretty common here. People used to call them "la zapatilla"
Nice, I wanted to get a Ranger from around those years, but they're like gold dust here. Don't let it rust please
They are toys for big (or rather small) boys.
Also Ram>F-150, it's obvious here
rural police forces have them for getting to cases on farms etc, they also have normal 4x4s
used to have STIs and Evos but I don't think they do any more
Mexico
Yes, they do, to the point you'll see them in retarded places like colonial downtowns full of narrow streets.
The new ones are owned by rich ranchers or people form some sort of agricultural background that made it to middle class, or by middle class to rich northerners (that are in cattle related jobs anyway). The old, beaten ones, are used for work by rural people. As I said, they're a fairly common sight, even in places they shouldn't be. Even the police, army and some drug traffickers use them.
Hey fellow Montanan. I can confirm that most Montanans drive either a truck or an SUV, because fuck winter. The only exceptions are in the "big" cities where people drive regular cars.
Are you drunk?
He is Russian.
Flag
Yes
Mostly farmers and narcos
Yes, but in Toyota Hilux size.
Used by loggers, farmers and earth moving contractors. Not rare but not USA tier ordinary.
Pretty common in Montreal too.
As a fun fact, I might add that the main reason for these users to buy a pick-up instead of a van, is that they can lift a reserve fuel tank on and off the truck with their equipment.
