What's going to be the tipping point in Americas inferiority complex where they go batshit insane and start an actual war with China? There's no way their psyche is equipped to being #2.
Will it be when Chinas GDP overtakes theirs? When the number of billionaires does? When some huge scientific advancement eclipses US? Or something else entirely...
China will develop some breakthrough technology (longevity, fusion, space tech), america will claim this is a danger to the world and claim to be the good guys. everyone will roll their eyes, making america made shart in mart etc

Yeah, 300 years from now

Powers overtaking one another is never an overnight thing, it'll likely be too gradual for anything like that to happen. At most there might be something purely symbolic like the Suez Crisis was for the UK. But the UK had already become 2nd (or even 3rd) place several years before that, the event itself was really just about them losing face publicly.

This is more than likely what will happen. We will force a war between India and China just to get rid of two birds with one bullet
They'll just keep lying to themselves like they're already doing.

This. We'll just look for ways they are worse and concentrate on them. >our gdp per capita is 67k and chinas is only 58k hahaha some superpower you are chang!

If even Trump isn't it then I think it won't happen ever. China GDP can and will overtake USA but I don't think that will cause China VS USA war, not in our lifetime. China may turn to taking small country like USA and the power race continues.

I'm not Chinese, but would such a scenario really surprise you? Think objectively of how Brits still are to this very day with the "b-b-but muh empire!! we rule da waves!!" nonsense. Are you really so unable to imagine such a scenario involving the US? The personality of the average American would certainly lend itself quite well to it.
To be fair though, PPP-adjusted GDP isn't really all that pertinent on a total national scale, seeing as it doesn't really reflect global economical influence/power. It's more useful for when comparing per capita values.

If you think Trump is as extreme as America is going to get you're going to be in for a massive shock

Nope, I'm just part of a non-Anglo minority in Canada which thoroughly despises Anglos (and seeing as aboriginals are too alcoholic and too poor to correctly use the internet, that leaves very few choices as to what I might be).
Nope, and frankly Irish diaspora outside of the Maritimes/Newfoundland is highly assimilated into the Anglo majority nowadays.

>Nope, and frankly Irish diaspora outside of the Maritimes/Newfoundland is highly assimilated into the Anglo majority nowadays. Wrong but whatever you say pierre
