When American soldiers come visit they're treated like kings and everyone wants to take selfies with them and they receive lots of attention and respect.

American tourists also receive the best treatment, hotels and hosts always give them the best rooms and the staff is ordered to give them full attention.

Honestly most people do, especially younger ones who travel and speak english a bit. I've also seen people here wearing clothes with american symbols on them (stars, stripes) many times. Some of those who are more open-minded and have some kind of education admit they like the US openly. Really, no one will beat you up or throw in a jail for saying that (but i would be more careful about that stuff if you are being interviewed by some government employee or if you apply for civil servant job, or just participate in some polls).
Soviet era people though tend to like "fat and stupid" jokes and similar stuff but it isn't as common and popular as even a decade ago.
And of course the fact that Trump got elected made people be more positive towards the US.
Hollywood also did a great job in making people kind of idealise the US.
