but there is also
>lidově také medvídek mýval,
in Czech.

Basically same. In Russian the full name is also related to washing since that's what they do, they wash their food and their hands.
Is "myval" related to myt' / umyt in Czech?

raton laveur

Mapache

dude it's szop pracz

see the french word, laveur = one who washes qqc, same in russian. but raton is funny

mapuche not mapache

>araiguma (washing bear)

in polish szop pracz, "pracz" means the one who makes laundry

lmao pracz, prachka in russian is an old fashioned word for a "washing lady" who does your laundry.

washing bear

kek, same thing. is it a modern word in Polish? i mean that was a job in like 19th century.

ocikomsis
something like “small scarred animal” i think
also, why the hell does everyone call it a washing bear?

i think it's pretty modern word but the profession of pracz doesn't exist for a long time

in that sense it is the same in russian i guess.
it is also funny that in russian that word is strictly feminine, i.e prachka. prach sounds funny. almost vrach (doctor).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raccoon#Dousing

because pracz is male
praczka would be female who makes laundry
