It makes a big difference though. Our states have such different cultures and dialects that they may as well be their own countries.

you don't do that in australia or what?

>Our states have such different cultures and dialects that they may as well be their own countries.

>In some states people say 'hey' instead of 'yo'
>in some states people pretend to be german instead of irish/scandinavian/anglo
>in some states people talk to woman with miss instead of ma'am

> Our states have such different cultures and dialects that they may as well be their own countries.

Unironically this. It’s p crazy.

>the only difference is what words we use

So do people from other countries.

Which state are you from?

This. Sometimes I wonder if midwesterners/southerners are even human. They don't even smile. It's like they're from Russia or something. I don't think I'd make it over there. They creep me out.

Lol explain the dialects
Only the accent changes slightly

how is this any more different than ukraina from russia?

both are shitholes

true

You guys got to take this dialect quiz and see where it put you. It was very accurate for me, being from Cape Cod.
Also why are there so many names for roly polies?

Why New England dialect is so different compared to Mid-West, but similar with Cali?

We do too you NEET faggot. I wouldn't want to accidentally be caught having a conversation with a milbiner.

Good question. I might've just given a somewhat Californian answer at some point? Maybe they are similar in some way

usa is cringe

Spen has more regional variation in its landmass the size of texas than the whole of the US.
The difference between a new yorker and someone from jersey is more like someone from Coruña vs Vigo than Madrid vs Valencia.

I'm not sure but to take an uneducated guess it might be that the coasts of America were colonized first by the same people

Do you spend a lot of time in America?

Considering how am*ricans boast about their oil money sharing platform every single bloody thread while being a colony of retarded *nglos and heritage micks I can confidently say that there is more difference at a provincial level in any country in europe than in US across different states.

They answer in a state in a native place across the sea.
idk

Well you should understand that Americans are a nomadic people unlike Europeans, we frequently move around in our own vast country from state to state. My ancestors came to Plymouth 400 years ago and I still live nearby so there are many exceptions

It's weird when people smile so much for no reason desu

That's okay, and works towards my point that americans have no real local culture past north and south, coastie, rancher and dif. Coasts. Then some majors like californian and texas and ny. And these differences are like someone from Manchester vs London. No different language, just slang.

Do you seriously think USA is the only country in the world with cultural differences between its regions?

America is big and we all hate each other. Is it really so surprising?

México, US is the only country in the world. Globalism is making sure their culture is ours. Just bow.

also fella instead of dude

>Americans always says there States right after the city they're coming from.

they have their own language, which used my minority of ukrainians..

there The Pennsylvania Dutch and the sadly dying Deutsch texas thats all i can think of.

This is mostly to prevent confusion. Many American towns have the same names as other towns. For example, there are 33 towns in the US named "Springfield".

Yeah it makes me sad

Attached: bladerunner_2049.jpg (600x631, 81K)

For example a Midwesterner may say "you guys" while a southern says "y'all"

Yeah well then stop supporting threads that pretend the status quo is different, it just makes it worse.
We have to understand america is a generally young nation, but there is more difference in cultures in any latin american country between regions that the US.
It is true that the rate at which americans move may affect their lack of most localized culture.

But can't you see? The best way for American culture to grow and diverge is for Americans to take their differences seriously. We aren't pretending we are vastly different but we are valuing the differences we do have.
And also, please understand that culture is always a product of it's environment and that America is a continent spanning country with vastly different environments so hearing from other Americans about what life in Texas or Florida is like can be just as interesting as hearing about European weather and such

Make sense, but does everyone knows each Springfield in the US? For instance, a girl told me she's from "Miami, Florida" a few days ago, as a foreigner I must admit this is the only Miami I know, so what's the point? Same when I meet an American coming from "Los Angeles, California" or wherever they're coming from...

She said it so you don't feel dumb

Or because she thought I am dumb.

Where do they use m'lady?

>it's an "American claims to be Irish because muh heritage" episode
