The Côte d'Azur is pretty great during summer. You can visit cities with Roman monuments like Avignon, Arles, and Aix or just relax and enjoy the sun while eating good food in Nice, Saint Tropez or Monaco.

I have only been to 3 cities in France, as far as I can recall; Paris, Strasbourg and Colmar, and I liked it very much, so perhaps it's high time I give the south of France a visit!

I loved it! Especially the astronomical clock in the cathedral, as I've always been both a watch guy and a church guy.
Unfortunately the weather was really bad when I went, so I couldn't stroll around the streets for too long.
I lived in Freiburg im Breisgau for a few months, which is how I ended up visiting Colmar/Strasbourg.

Definitely not disappointed. The only thing I was disappointed by was probably the eiffel tower, but the Louvre was brilliant.

UK I would say, they hosted our royal family and government in exile during the war, and helped to train Norwegian resistance fighters.

Yeah, I agree. The Eiffel Tower is great as a national symbol, but visiting it in person is a pretty bad experience since it's so crowded and African street sellers keep trying to force you to buy cheap key rings.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked Strasbourg that much. You're making me very happy.
