I once crossed the border in a car, but I was really young so I don't remember much. I've been to San Jose twice, but it was by plain. I liked it but didn't have time to really explore Costa Rica. A road trip through the Pan-American road to San Jose and then back through the Ruta 34 into Panama would be really nice.
