papagallo or guacamaya
Still a parrot, so Pappagall. We don't have all the species' name in Maltese, so we'd use it's English name.
Exyugo parrotis generalicus threadicum

>pappagall
I thought we derived "popugai" from the verb "popugatj", but it's actually a loanword wtf
Guacamaya escarlata
Still popugay, we dont differ them

We don't really have parrots living here, so no one cares to make a distinction between different species.
cotorra
One of these is technically a papagaio and the other is an arara, but I don't know which is which.
We rarely use anything but papagaio as an umbrella term.
>We don't really have parrots living here
Americans don't have it either, but this guy at least made a proper distinction by calling it by its proper name.
pappagallo
Guacamaya
