Nobody in their right minds would want to live in Japan. I don't mean that its a bad place to live - far from it, its just that nobody can ever truly assimilate in such a xenophobic culture. Unlike the US or UK (and singapore if you are not white or black), you and your family cannot and never will become a part of the country. Children born in america will be called american, children born in the uk will be british, but foreign children in japan will still not be fully "japanese". This isn't a bad thing really, its their choice how they want to run the country, but I dont know why anyone would willingly want to live there permanently.

I've been thinking of applying of but I am having second thoughts since I've had a horrible experience interning for Fujitsu, I was required to bow the and greet the Japanese supervisor every day and the only rest we had was lunch time (9-6pm schedule). I was there 8 hours a day sitting at my desk coding, my desk beside the supervisor checking out what I was doing for 8 hours every single day. One time I forgot to bow and greet/say goodbye to the supervisor I was shocked they gave me a memo about it and the HR talked to me about it. I was also required to answer phones and redirect the call when I'm available.

Tbh, I feel really bad about the way Japan treats its Chinese and Korean expats. They have a huge birth problem which can only be solved by bringing in immigrants, and the ideal immigrants would be Koreans and other east asians. They are making it hard for themselves to be honest.
