Be a scientist in Europe

dumb norge

Can shitaly stop giving a passport to any south American that ask for it?

It's citizenship by blood
I don't know who's the genius that thought that getting back the terrone diaspora was a good idea

My field is Physics, so I might be wrong regarding biology, but all the Italian physicists I've met (and I've met quite a few since I was born near the border) told me it's basically impossible to get a position in Italy. There is way too much demand, and we see a lot of Italians coming to do their research and live in France.
I've moved to the North recently and even there, there was an Italian in my team who made her uni studies in France and stayed here after getting a PhD and now a job, only because that's the only way she could get a position.

So you may try your luck in Italy, but it's likely to be extremely difficult. I'm pretty sure Germany on the other hand hires a lot.

Not your business dude, you're not in the union.

Cool, i'll do my studies in italy, then try to get a job there or move to any other country like france, germany or england.

I'm a biology student

Have you considered to find work in government agencies?

Or maybe you can choose a more practical field like microbiology or pathology.

Mi proyecto es especializarme en ecología y microbiología, así puedo encontrar trabajo aquí y financiar otros proyectos aunque claro, puede que esto sea mas difícil de lo que creo.

Good luck with that, argiebro.

In scientific research having international crews is pretty much the norm. Would avoid Italy tho, researchers here are quite underpaid, you'd have much better positions in the Netherlands for instance.

Define: underpaid

I think that is still better than our witch-burning shitholes

Thanks frenchbro

How much is underpaid for an european? a scientist here earn more or left 1200€
