Not know what to do as I sit around unemployed.

lets go into business together!

18 month (mom typing for me)
unemployed

Let's fucking do this shit. I've got workaholic blood in me. I'm just stuck in this small ass town with no job prospects.

Well uhh... Geez user, I don't know what to do. Maybe we can create a gang and extort local businesses for protection money

29
NEET

I've got an idea where later we can start branching out and begin racketeering kid and pet sitters.

I live by the border so I can smuggle in the muscle we need.

28
Perma-NEET just like I want it.

21
High school dropout neet lololol

22
nothing

How can you be NEET in Poland? Shouldn't you starve?

25
Moved back with parents last year. living NEET life

get a room, you faggots

I'm pretending once a year I'm a psycho. Money is enough to survive and I got a flat in a commieblock after my parents.

22
Currently doing my undergrad studies in Archaeology, which nets me a cool $300 stipend + $700 loan at very favorable rates pee month from the state. It's not a lot, but definitely enough to get by. I also do the odd kitchen bitch jobs every now and then to subsidise my drinking and drug habits.

that's the plan, faggot

It's okay, you're invited, too.

>archaeology
fuck archaeology was the most boring thing in the world to me, if there was any job that would make me kill myself it would be digging up fossils

That's paleontology, but they both seem really tedious. I don't think I could do it, I'm a bit of a clutz. I wouldn't mind being an archivist. Pretty boring, but it seems like an alright job.

Cool, field archaeologist since 2012 here.
31 years old.

>archeology
>digging up fossils
pick one

Way better than sitting in a cubicle or at a office desk for 9 hours a day only to then go home and want to off yourself and do it all again tomorrow

yeah i know, exploring dead and buried cultures and digging them up, labeling them as fossils was just simpler for me to do

Not trying to meme you here but it's a very different subject in Europe and in America. Where in your case it's largely focused on the remains of people, since that's mostly what is there to be exxavated, over here it's much more about using those material remains together with settlements and such to create larger models of society. Also as has been noted, paleontologists are the ones digging up the fossils.

Neat! Hopefully I'll be coming for your job in 3-4 years. I'm thinking of doing a semester of osteology at SU at some point, anything you could recommend?

Basically this yeah, I did a bunch of jobs before I started studying, of which construction was probably the best paying, but if I'm going to be digging holes in the ground I might as well get to look for cool shit.

27
High school teacher. I like it.

22
Post pro-CCP propaganda

>osteology
It's surely worth it, I did the same.

>but if I'm going to be digging holes in the ground I might as well get to look for cool shit.
That's good way to go about it. I find outdoors type shit to be more fun than sitting infront of a computer screen all the time

26
Slaving away at law firm and going to university, it all feels dead end and pointless. My only goal is to move out and live alone so no one can judge me

technical support (senior advisor in a call center)
I was just at an interview for position as IT-consultant and it went pretty good. Then I will get certifications for either cloud services or IT security if yhey hire me.

>technical support (senior advisor in a call center)
I sense Norwegian Pajeet here.

21
enrolled in the university but not not attending and not giving any exams, living with parents in deep depression with hope that everything will be fine someday.

A-are you me?

Not really, and there are lots of ethnic Norwegians at my workplace. It's basically a job where you work for a little while before you move onto something else though. I've only worked there for a year and a few months, and already have a new job in my sights.

France
26
Microelectronics process development engineer.

Cool, fingres crossed for you.

24
C++ programmer for a smaller company, currently working with Xperia Companion and a VR hunting simulator.

One of the better things with work is that it's 100% flexible hours and well paid.

Hello waffer-user.
I forgot my badge this morning so I'm making a round trip back homes.

You know you can still get in trough any of the big entrances (Minatec or main) ?

Well fuck.
Too late now.

Literally just got my accounting degree but starting work soon

Do you have students who lurk Jow Forums

You're not in a hurry, everyone is on holidays.

27. 3rd year undergrad history. Mildly depressed. Want to go academic but job prospects look bad and I'm getting too old for this shit.

Almost certainly. Some of those kids are practically brought up by the internet, it's pretty scary desu. They're too young to have developed proper critical thinking, and too surrounded by retards on the internet who reinforce their stupid views (sometimes ironically, which they don't realise). I'm pretty sure they'll mostly turn out alright, but not all of them.

23
PLC programmer

Best you can do is probably always remind them that not everything they read or see on the internet is true. Do you think they have any idea that you browse Jow Forums as well? What do you teach?

I do remind them of that, I try hard to teach critical thinking. No I would never tell them that I browse Jow Forums, it has too much of a reputation (kids can be as ignorant as old people). My knowledge of memes is pretty good but I leave how I know the memes a mystery. I teach year 9 english, year 8 and 9 humanites (history/geography) and VCAL literacy, which is like the senior (17/18yos) certificate for going into work instead of study. I teach at a pretty low socio-economic school, so there are lots of refugees and poorer students there, but also quite a lot of middle class. Very interesting mix.

20
I have like half the points i need for a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, now i am a NEET.
Maybe i'll join the military or something instead

36
unemployee already 1 year , used to be a senior sap consultant financial and Logistcs

24

24
Student desu

26
Youtuber/Twitch streamer/Vlogger.

23
Electrcal engineer for the military
It's aight, very secure with nice and steady raises

>31
>NEET

>23
>government archivist
its pretty alright, pay could be better

>22
>collect welfare

Do you have favorites?

Fuck off Robbaz.

Yes. You can't help it. Some people are just funnier/nicer/cooler than others. I only have 1 student that I properly don't like, out of about 130 students. He's just a manipulative, lying, disrespectful piece of shit who always blames someone else for his problems. But overall I like 99% of my students in some way.

>36
>Psychotherapist
Used to be interesting, not so much now. Annoying when I get pissed off with my own life.Back to work about a year, was NEET for nearly 2 years because of accident/illness.

military enlisted

please kill me

32
NEET

>Some people are just funnier/nicer/cooler than others.
It always fucks with me realizing that the people being a disturbance to the class is probably better liked than the quiet kid just following along because at least the rowdy kid makes the class more lively for the teacher.

Gah you never win being quiet.

Anyways that sounds nice. I could tell my HS teachers were C O M F Y in their work, but we generally pretty cool and industrious students so it probably didn't suck as bad reading and grading our essays.

For some reason it sounds pretty cool to find out that your teacher/professor posts on Jow Forums. The teacher-student barrier will be reduced

Do you have your own psychotherapist?

do it before you get older tho

32
NEET

I play vidya on twitch, but that doesn't pay the bills.

Attached: 1dfd01f288b0b9b1f22cc8a36e89133f.jpg (300x293, 24K)

I always interact with the quiet kids, they're usually pretty nice, I try to know 2 things about every kid. I don't necessarily like the rowdy ones more, although sometimes I do, they're often the ones with hard home lives tbph. It's very much case by case.

They'll never know.

I've had psychotherapy in the past sure, and I definitely use it if I need it, or have a problem. I don't have ongoing therapy like a psychoanalyst tends to have.

I have clinical supervision though, which is a little like that, but more time is spent discussing case. It's not as frequent as weekly therapy either.

It's useful for a therapist personal therapy, to help with problems, and to find out how it works. I don't believe that all therapists need loads of therapy though (that's a commonly held opinion in some parts of the profession).

>I'm pretending once a year I'm a psycho.
That just raises more questions. What do you do? How does it result in getting money? Teach me your ways.

18
Work at a boatyard painting and sanding boats

23
Still in college, make money as a steward and freelance editor

21, archaeology student

22
temporary NEET. i skipped this semester.

12
I mine uranium

Drugs + parents died = me in a mental hospital. It was like 10 years ago but I'm pretending now. I have to go once a year to some medical board so they examine me and state that I'm unable to work. Before I go there I usually don't wash myself for a week and I don't sleep for about two days. It always works for me.

I usually get up at 5 to avoid my neighbours to go to nearest shop to get some food and coke (I only drink coke). I play games all day, read some books, watch movies and browse Jow Forums. No GF, no friends, no future. You don't want to be like me.

What happened?

>people only go into psychology because they're looking for an answer to their own problems
How true is this statement?

>21
>volunteer at aged care centre

How are those elderly emus treating you

>(I only drink coke)
Are you fat?

Why volunteer?

>work in IT

It's breddy gud, although I'm looking for a way to transform those 220 or so days of wageslaving into 100-150 days while still getting enough monies.

AYO WE AINT WANT NO CRACKA ASS COPS IN ERE SHEIT MAN

Are you a power hungry cunt? How many cops are power hungry cunts who abuse their power?

Stop drinking soft drinks. Sit in the sun.

Well good on ya, at least you're doing something.

>Stop drinking soft drinks. Sit in the sun.
I'm mentally ill, I can't stop drinking coke.

There is a kind of truth to that user, It's quite common that psychologists will have had a troubled upbringing, or some difficult early experiences that lead them to search for solutions. Some go into this work later in life after recovering from their own difficulties, so yeah, common.

It's far from the only reason people go into the profession. The motivations you'd guess like solving problems, helping others, curiosity about people and the mind are typical.

I had some depression when I was about 21, though I had a big interest in psychology and was already studying it.

Those problems definitely helped steer me in this career direction.

thoughts on penis envy? Was Freud a hack? How is he seen nowadays amongst your colleagues?

Much racism in your dept, are you always trying to keep a brother down?

I thought you said you were pretending. Then at least sit in the sun. It's good for you.

Yes, I'm pretending but some weird habits didn't go away.

I'm far from convinced on speculative theories like penis envy. Freud went a bit wacky on all that sexual stuff. He seemed a bit obsessed. I wonder sometimes if the cocaine use influenced that line of thinking.

Overall I'd say he wasn't a hack though. The ideas about difficult early experiences contributing to mental health problems were revolutionary, even though they seem obvious now. Lots of his best insights have been integrated into everyday knowledge.

Nowadays Freud is mostly acknowledged for his early work and methods with a Freudian influence have made a bit of a comeback, for certain types of problems, but very few therapists use the detailed Freudian idea. He's still a divisive figure, pure psychoanalysis is mostly seen as impractical at best.

Analysts still exist, but they're outside of mainstream psychotherapy. It's a complicated question really. Combination methods like cognitive analytic therapy have their benefits.

Thanks for the answer. I find it really interesting that some of Freud's theories have been shown to have empirical scientific evidence supporting it. So much for it being considered "pseudo-science"

Explain MOMMY posters pls

Thanks for the reply, user.
