No. It doesn't have same meaning as in Japland, where I'm guessing it's like a taboo/nationalist symbol when displayed? It's just a Japanese symbol. There is WW2 but the flag isn't taboo here in the least, not even particularly meaningful. Even our symbols often associated with some unsavoury (by most accounts) people aren't taboo or negative at all.
