And yes, it is. Exceptionally well-crafted quests all around. Virtually all side quests are at least as engaging as the best quests of any kind other RPGs have to offer. And the main quests just blow the competition out of the water.

Many people forget that he wasn't just a scholar but also a governor, and he was very engaged in the Polish cause. He hated Teutons and their boner for power trips and landgrabs.

it took place before this short scene at the beggining of the game
when Geralt first brought Ciri to the Kaer Morhen, she was in a bad mood during training sometimes and witchers did not know what is going on with her, so they decided to call Triss, because they did not really like Yennefer
it turned out Ciri was on her period, and Triss was very mad at the witchers for not figuring it out
Ciri and Yennefer met later, when they needed someone to learn Ciri how to use her magic powers
they wanted to call Triss again, but they figured that if they ask Triss first, and she won't want to do it, and then ask Yennefer, Yennefer will be mad as fuck that she is the secondary option
and if they ask Yennefer first, and then ask Triss, Triss wouldn't mind
so Yennefer came, and this is how they met
