Had it very comfy. Had two rooms and a balcony at the age of 11. Invited my friends over, gave them a coke from my minibar, jumped into the pool and dried up in the sauna. In the evening (14-15) we would smoke weed in the barbeque house. It was a large timber building with grass on the roof and lots of antiques. Then we became poor.

It returned to normal mostly. From the death of the USSR there was a short time where no one cared about the sunni-shia-israel-russia-whatever proxy wars and the rise of China, and there was for a little while no real threat to western civilization at all. Of course, kids in the mid 2000's were raised by boomers, so wasted generations were made in this time. But at least they enjoyed their youths with minimal interference from shitty minorities, cops, or social or political unrest.
