because its called aluminum you amerifat fucktard

It's pronounced "alaminyem"

aluminium*

>calls american retarded
>uses american spelling
the state of croatian education lads

Did you mean to write “aluminium”?
>European education
They changed it to “Aluminium” because it sounded nicer to them. Aluminum is correct.
That’s literally the reason, look it up.

Because aluminium is the name since its discovery (by an anglo no less). You're a retard.

The IUPAC says aluminium is the standard name.

Anyway, why do you guys have to fight for everything? The are dozens of words with different spellings and pronunciation by country in the English world.

Aluminium sounds better and makes more sense

>makes more sense
How? Are they going to make it molybdenium, platinium, and lanthanium as well?

>That’s literally the reason, look it up.
Sort of, it's to match the naming conventions of other elements, like thorium, etc.

only if you're a cuckold.

it's the original spelling and sodium, potassium, titanium, iridium, magnesium, radium, lithium, plutonium, helium, etc etc

Those are english variations and spelled completely different in other languages. Aluminium on the other hand is pretty commonly spelled that way.

Molydenum platinum lanthanum

It's pronounced Aliminijum you retarded foreigners.

>sodium instead of natrium
>potassium instead of kalium

Exception exist obviously, but the general rule is '-ium'.
Apparently you guys even used to call it aluminium, then just decided to start calling in it aluminum, so I don't know why you're getting uppity about this.

You don't call them ching-chong or something?

why did they put -ium in ALL elements?

hydrogenium
heliumuim
boronium
carbonium
goldium
silverium
kryptonium

sounds fancy though

aluminum -----> al-um-in-um

vs

aluminium ------>aloominyum

and what do you fags call plutonium or titanium?

dont forget tantalum

We agreed to call sulphur sulfur while you poofs had to say aluminium the right way

>We agreed to call sulphur sulfur
mfw you call it by its latin name and we call it "soufre"...

A Lum Num you retards

Cringe

It's Aluminiumm, in Spanish it translates to Aluminio, faggot

Americans are very insecure about the English language, almost all of their alternate spellings come from a deep-seated case of colonial cringe. "Aluminum" is a particularly dumb one because they'd been using "aluminium" for ages before abruptly changing back to be different.

>aluminium is the name since its discovery
