Russia's murder rate fell to 6 per 100,000 people in 2017, the lowest in modern times. It hit a high of 33 per 100,000 in 1994. This is one of the biggest drops in murder rate in modern times by any large country - what is Russia doing right? Can other high-murder countries like Brazil or South Africa copy Russia's example?

You can clearly see that capitalism literally caused the spike in the 1st place. It's only after 25 years, that they're back to the place they started

it's largely depends on economics.
now we are not so good at doing this.
please help.

we banned knifes

>Brazil
too much corruption everywhere
>South Africa
they're fucked

as you might know russia is corrupt as hell and most murders are unreported

>they're fucked
why?

They can repeat of course. First step is to find their own mr. Putin.

>political turmoil and economical crisis causes spike in crime
Who would have thought ??

this wasn't capitalism, it was the transition, also you can't trust the statistics of a totalitarian state

>Posting stats about an authoritarian shithole
Post china's government trust stats next.

>racial tensions as high as ever
>anc rule has barely changed anything. nogs still earn only 1/10th-1/3rd of the average white wage
>poverty causes a lot of crime, which in turn intensifies race tensions even further
>whites are bolting out of the country as fast as they can because it literally has no future

Same things happened in Russia in the 90's. Civil war, terrorist attacks, poverty, corruption, brain drain.

What was life like in 90's Russia?

It's been like that for almost 30 years now and you're trusting a nation full of druggies and nogs to turn it around?

My parents protected me from poverty. I even had a video game console and a VCR. I remember that there was nothing domestic - we ate cheese from the USA and juices brought from Poland, watched Brazilian soap operas.

>what is Russia doing right?

Hiding statistics.

Crime raged in those days. It was dangerous to walk the streets in the evening, and TV showed dead corpses of soldiers(!) and terrorists in Chechnya.
I do not know, but there must be some way to recovery. In Russia, they have chosen the path of toughening of civil liberties. But it helped significantly, this is a different country than it was in the 90s.

everyone is killed

My father was a military officer. But i remember how cafes, shops closed one by one. Everywhere used syringes. Sometimes electricity turns off. We did not have hot water and telephone at home. Parents were not paid a salary and they sent me to my grandmother, she had a kitchen garden. Father of my classmates moonlighting as a taxi driver at night and once he disappeared. Body was never found. In the citys was the crime, herroin, terror and also war on the northen caucas.
Shit was so much that it was everywhere
