Oh, okay. :)

What did this angsty teen said?

>in University
>"The skin is no organ lol"
>"Of course I know it. Humanity is about 1000 years old."
>"We have book prints since forever. But some old folks used to draw on walls to make it easier to understand and telling stories visually"

You won't believe some people. And you shouldn't.
How some of these got accepted into University is still a mistery for me.

what did you mean by that

Are you retarded? It's only 6000 years only.

>no person ever lived can really sure confirm that the civilization is as old as claimed

There is actually more evidence out there that proofs that it is a young Earth as oppose to an old Earth. With technology vastly improving, we can use that and dig deeper than ever before into the preconceived idea of billions years old Earth and see that it actually makes more sense for that

>earth exists

Attached: maximum brainlet.png (474x711, 90K)

>Be a Rust Belt dweller
>Only items to export are rust and hillbilly think tank publications

What evidence

I wish my only source wasn't a movie but it's one called Is Genesis History. It's about a guy who goes around the world talking with some leading scientists and whatnot about things like rock formations being formed from one short superbolic event instead of numerous short events over billions of years and other things like that

There is more out there beyond this movie but I haven't looked into that all yet

Believe it if you want but this is what I am going after

>>"We have book prints since forever. But some old folks used to draw on walls to make it easier to understand and telling stories visually"
what the fuck

>Is Genesis History? is a 2017 American Christian documentary film that promotes creation science.

Well

>Is Genesis History
lmao
have you ever talked with people who unironically believe in flat earth, user?

If you take a look at it yourself you will decide to believe it or not ;)

I am always surprised at how people try to argue that a book written 2000 years ago by goat farmers has any scientific value.

Do you really believe that crap? :D

I think he does. :)
I think the book of Genesis was written even earlier, was it not?

But the image illustrates exactly what the other picture did
You are not any of those persons
You are just an edgy larper

>believing in nonmaterial things makes me a genius!
real fucking spooky user
nah man he's totally gonna retake constantinople and purge the atheists and muDSLIMES XDDDD

The New Testament was written 2000 years ago. The Old Testament is much older written by many people over thousands of years

Also for the scientific value in the Old Testament, there are things that God revealed to us about science and nature that we didn't "discover" until fairly recently. For instance, He taught that he earth was round, the earth floats in space, the blood is the life force of the body and it took forever for us to stop bloodletting patients because it didn't work, running water cleans better than still water, quarantine is the best way to stop the spread of diseases

All these things were not actually scientifically proven until much much later

>I think the book of Genesis was written even earlier
2700 years ago, something like that.

Sorry over exaggerated a bit the Old Testament was written more like in the span of hundreds of years

Are you on drugs?

Attached: bokerface.png (662x697, 44K)

nigga, people found out the earth was round in fucking greece
and they had medicine too
greeks believed in some whack shit but it's not only the bible that told people earth was round lmao

Just what it says in the Bible my Russian friend :3

Also the inability to fall back asleep this morning as well

youtube.com/watch?v=61LbWaZ9mIs

Just because it says it in the Bible doesn't mean it was mutually exclusive to the Hebrews. The Greeks were able to figure things out as well. But it all didn't become universally accepted until much later

Also, all that was in reply to that Swiss user who asked about the scientific value in the Bible

what the fuck are you talking about? people have generally been aware the earth is round for ages
they just weren't that aware of the western hemisphere

Either way, there are still other things that could be discussed instead of hashing on only one of the arguements I presented. At that point it becomes the number game

But here's some food for thought, going off the whole "lol the Hebrews and Jews were all nomadic goat hoarder peasants", how would such a "backward" people have gained this kind of knowledge? Sure you can say the Greeks but would a speclative idea at the time of the Greeks have traversed such a large tract of land through different cultures to appear before the 12 scattered, often impoverished tribes of Israel

I just read the description of the video and I will watch it later that French user :)

>how would such a "backward" people have gained this kind of knowledge?
Because they were in a constant contact with more advanced civilizations. They even wrote their all shit down during the Babylonian captivity.

not all hebrews and jews were nomadic goat herders, they had civilizations
also, link me the quotes in genesis that say the earth is round and floats in space, I'm curious
also, it wasn't "speculative" they did math to figure that shit out

God doesn't exist because "muh scientific method"

Attached: 1522716957169.jpg (229x220, 7K)

It's the same story as with leprechauns or unicorns. Theoretically, they might exist but there are no proofs of that, so we don't consider them real.

its more like "I don't see the need for the ever dwindling God of the gaps and have no compelling reason to believe in him"

>If you look for God then you will find him

Attached: seltek.jpg (400x350, 13K)

It worked for my keys.

it's almost like there's no empirical evidence or anything

Yeah. The world was easier back then, you knew who was good and who was evil

Imagine being so retarded that you need proof things outside of what we can see with our senses exist

Attached: 28381918_767592850096919_649296996_n.jpg (221x250, 5K)

>according to a book written by jews

They didn't write all their things during the captivity. The Israelis had a lot more ancient writings than what we have currently today but before their exile they managed to collect as much as they could and while in Babylon that's when they brought the writings together to form the start basis of the OT

I'm not saying they were all goat hoarders that's just the meme that athiest internet edgelords like to spur out

Here are the quotes about the earth

"It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in" Isiah 40:22

"He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness" Job 26:10

"He stretches out the north over the void amd hangs the earth on nothing." Job 26:7

Sorry somehow didn't link my response to your question in my last reply. It's there

imagine being so retarded you believe things without proof
well, at least you actually posted quotes
which is good, but they still were in constant contact with other groups, I'm sure it's not simply God telling them it's round and therefore suspended somehow (or in orbit)

Attached: brainlet wojak.png (644x573, 68K)

religious are worst than people not believing, really made me think.

>he still believes in the earth

Attached: lh.png (449x401, 490K)

>you need proof things outside of what we can see with our senses exist
Well, that's how it works. Distant stars, black holes and elementary particles cannot be detected by your senses as well.

>They didn't write all their things during the captivity
They wrote it down from different sources to keep their beliefs safe.

but muuuuh adam muuuuuh eve muuuuh evil snake and red apple like in snow white story muuuuuuh lmao

Snakes are good. Stop bullying snakes.

Yeah for sure they were still in contact with the other civilizations and learned many things from them but there is still (I believe) some kind of divine intervention. What a lot of people think, I'm not saying you are one of these, is that the spiritual and physical aspects of things can't go together. Why can't the physical go with the spiritual. What I mean by that, for instance, the divine can work though the material instead of of just "poof" it's there... if this makes sense to you

This is still something I think about often and try to figure out so thanks for giving me more things to think about :3 I hope maybe I could have helped you out a bit too

>ITT
I hope this is just of ironic shitposting

Attached: 607cc59108239a80e7d90e1ee389b818a9d1bb129d8d490e5183391a893ed08b.jpg (300x260, 29K)

Ah but those sources were written down before the captivity, so it's not like they just all of a sudden wrote down everything there

At least that's what it seemed like your original question was asking

>Why can't the physical go with the spiritual
Because everything that can interact with matter is physical.

>it's not like they just all of a sudden wrote down everything there
They systemized everything they knew.

well yeah, you *believe*
there's not proof, it's based on faith
you're not gonna convince materialists based on such things
at least you tried arguing your point, so I appreciate that

Attached: nonononononono.gif (500x258, 295K)

But couldn't the spiritual be like the "spark" something physical needs? I'm not sure if this is a good example to what I said or even a good example in general but in the OT there were numerous prophesies regarding Israel getting attacked by foreign powers and they themselves doing the attacking and all of those prophesies came true. That can in a way be the "spiritual" natural of the prophesies while the actual events were the physical one

Now that's true! Although t.bh I forgot the topic of this conversation maybe we went somewhere with this maybe not lol

I'm glad you appreciate it. I appreciate this conversation. That's one of the reasons why I try to gather as much info on these topics as I can so I can make sound arguements that aren't just based on faith alone. I want to try and bridge that gap. But yeah it's still a long bumpy road ahead haha

EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND I RESPECT THAT!
I LOVE MY FELLOW AMERICANS POSTERS!

Attached: 1510888373804.jpg (249x243, 17K)

>But couldn't the spiritual be like the "spark" something physical needs?
What is that suppose to mean? if that "spark" (what the fuck) can affect physical world then it itself is physical.

Maybe that example could have been a little better. This might be where the faith comes in to believe that the physical and spiritual can intertwine with each other. And in order to build that faith I would honestly say to simply open your heart and just be open to new possibilities. You don't have to believe in them but at least meditate on a foreign idea. I can't remember the exact Bible quotes and I don't really feel like looking around for them but it encourages to be open to the possibilities and to think about them

But to try to answer your question some more I think this "spark" component in my last example would be those prophesies and the physical those conquests. Here we see the two intertwining with each other by hearing about it from a divine source to it being a reality

>>"We have book prints since forever. But some old folks used to draw on walls to make it easier to understand and telling stories visually"
man that is JUST

You guys respect the most dumb fucking ideas, we know.

This is a board for the BLACK man

RUDE.
BUT I LOVE NETHERLAND POSTERS!

It looks like you don't quite understand what "physical" is.

>hey, look at this edgy cringelord!
>*makes this picture unironically*

>muslims being educated and quoting christian theologians
>being associated with goatfuckers in general
i'd rather side with the atheists thank you very much

This video is much less irritating with sound
