It started of as an observation that American whites are so mixed between the different European ethnicities that although, of pale skin, you cannot really figure out where to place them on the map of Europe. Basically, we could recognize an American because we look at you and we know you are some kind of European, but you are so mixed that you are none of the European people we know, so you must be American then.

It's neither of those things. German demographic statistics are very liberal with what's classed as a "non-German". It includes things like people who have German parents with even just one being born abroad, or "Aussiedler" who are ethnic Germans (at least in the eyes of the state).

I haven't heard this, but the phrasing of that could potentially imply that non-german means Czech, Dutch, Austrian... etc. etc. Non-german doesn't necessarily imply non-european and it can also imply nationalities that are genetically similar to Germans.

He's not quite wrong; the term "euro mutt" or just "mutt" has been used by white Americans to describe their ancestry since before Jow Forums existed before it became an ebin meem. When your paternal grandfather was a French Quebecois who marred a Dutch immigrant and your other two grandparents were a Scot and a Sicilian/Slav, how does one define their heritage? For many people, the answer is to basically shrug and identify with whatever family had the greatest presence in your life.

Basically everyone from Western or Southern Europe has some Roman in them at the bare minimum, most of Eastern Europe will have some Mongol in them, Balkans Turk and Arab, Iberians, Italians and Maltese some Arab and Berber, and so on.
