Do other countries have anything similar to BUDS (Navy Seal training)?

Do other countries have anything similar to BUDS (Navy Seal training)?

This is one of the excersizes, it's named Drown Proof Testing, "The trainees’ arms and legs are bound as they jump into the pool. They must bob in the water for five minutes, and then they must float in the water for five minutes followed by a 100 meter swim. Another two minute bob and then a series of front and backwards flips. After this the trainee must swim to the bottom of the pool and retrieve an object with their teeth and bring it back up to the surface where they once again have to bob for another five minutes."

This isn't part of the "hell week" either, which is considered the worst part of it. Not to mention the training takes six months, as opposed to 12 weeks (for the marines which have longest boot camp)

The Drown Proof testing has also had a fair amount of deaths, around 7 in the past 5 years, but it's relatively rare to die. As instructors try their hardest to prevent it.

However, the fail rate for Navy Seal training is ~78% (for men)

I'm pretty sure all countries have harsh exercises for their SpecOps

>black guy

RIP

No, I don't care for retards suffering for multi millionaire tax collectors.

>giving your life to the ellite

This (maybe except Africa, not sure).

Our elite amphibian regiment is called "Lagunari" (Lagooneers).
They're the heirs of the embarked troops of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, making them the oldest regiment in Italy (1202)

>Having an army

Forgot pic. Note the blue-green beret

>blue green
Umm it's called teal, snookums :)

Yeah, dark teal

Our special forces, SOP, have almost similar training

>africa
>COUNTRY

IN Africa, is that ok?
I know we're training their troops, and in general the feedback is pretty bad. If they have special forces the only difference must be their brutality.

wtf i did all that in childhood cos i loved it, not because "seal training"
swim till 0,5 yo though

SpecOps (the rangers) is basically the same as normal military; Be from Ireland, able to read and sign up, except the rangers also have to be able to run a mile.

Jesus. Is it at least tax free and with free housing, food, and utilities?

Don't join the military for economic reasons

How in the fuck are you intended to swim with your arms and legs tied up?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaibiles

>eating the heads off live chickens
>murdering puppies you've raised
>standing in neck deep water for two days without sleeping
>only 30 seconds to eat, always directly after PT
>sleep 3 hours a night every night and only if you earn it
>SHOOT YOURSELF TO PRACTICE MEDICAL SKILLS

Navy SEALs are you even trying?

Quetzalcoatl would be proud

>be able to run a mile.
wow, whole mile, what a super beings thet are

Why would we? Americans will die for us if Russia tries to do anything

>tfw your cunt can spend money on more important shit like welfare and neglect your military since amerilards will do our dirty work

What military threat to denmark

Russia. China in 60 years

*Tips GI bill*

Nope

never being in the mexican army, but while doing my military service a soldier told us about this exercise (don't remember the name of it):

>you're in a pool or lake
>free hands, free legs, no equipment
>you have to keep your self afloat for as much time as you possibly can
>but there is a diver down there, that is going to keep pulling you down to the bottom at random times
>once you can't no more they take you out or you get yourself out
>they let you have some rest, feed you some bananas (to avoid cramps)
>and then to the water again

I remember this exercise should last around a day and a half or something, and to succeed you must accomplish a pre established minimum time in-water

never understood why someone would want to be a literal frogman

>>SHOOT YOURSELF TO PRACTICE MEDICAL SKILLS
Jesus Christ

This was on Jow Forums a few days ago, and someone pointed out why these Central American countries have such batshit-crazy SOF training. It's because all they are thinking about its cartel hazing, and when you are combining that with the myths of US SOF, you get BS like this.

ok

Ironically Africans are probably the most battle-tested though.

Doesn't seem that hard, to be honest. The bob and swim part is quite easy.

I can totally see why people fail at the sink and retrieve, though. I do that all the time for fun, and it can be dangerous if you're all windy and out of breath from other swimming.

In most natural, civilian cases I assume the fail rate would be much, much lower. The boot camp stress and weariness probably is a key factor here.

yes we do the same in greece

Can any Russian, French or Brit talk about their special forces please. Please.

Most African militaries are cartoonishly incompetent. North Africa is alright, similar to the Middle East, but the rest is just terrible.

i bet that many of them get to work for cartels after they leave the unit
