Let's see some "watered down" aspects from the short timers (written by an actual vietnam veteran) that "for some reason" didn't make it to the movie:

>The first KC (kill confirmation) Jokger got was a random vietnamese farmer who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, right after a fat grunt step on an AT mine and blow to pieces.
>There is another grunt, ALICE, who carries dead vietnamese feet in a bag, always cutting feet from the dead
>There is a scene were joker and rafterman are being carried by a tank, and for some reason the tank driver makes a wrong move and runs over a vietnamese kid. Nobody gives a fuck about it
>There an NCO, crazy joe, the guy goes nuts in the middle of a fight and starts shooting VC with a bb gun.

I read it recently, I think there are even more fucked up shit on that book. As I said before, good read
