I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Spanish, is in fact, Castilian Spanish, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Castellano. Spain is not a country or a language unto itself, but merely a group of Iberian tribes made useful by based Castilians, a vital group thanks to which Spain and Latin America exists.
Many Jow Forums users mistake Spanish for Castellano every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the Castilian Spanish is often called "Spanish", and many of Jow Forumsolerants are not aware that it is basically the Castellano, a language of Castilians.
There really is Spanish, but Castilian is only a part of it. Castilian is different, much more sophisticated and stuff. This is essential for you to realize. Spanish often includes Castilian, but basically it's Spanish languages with Castilian added. All the so called "Spaniards" are really Castilians.
You don't know shit. I agree it's completely wrong to call my language Spanish, since there is no language that represents all of the country. No, Castilian is not more sophisticated than Spanish, neither it is the other way around. A Spaniard is someone that was born in Spain, that includes niggers or a pole like you.
Gavin Perry
Basque country, catalonia all call themselves Spanish and speak spanish as native language, calling Spanish castillian makes no sense, it is latin.
Luke Rivera

Only place that calls spanish castillian are argentinians, Spanish is a world language.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Slavs, is in fact, Wends and Slavs, or as I've recently taken to calling it, masterrace and slavshits. Slavs are not an ethnic group unto itself, but merely a linguistic group made useful by based Wends, a vital group thanks to which Europe exists.
Many Jow Forums users mistake Wends for Slavs every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the Wendish group is often called "Slavs", and many of Jow Forumsolerants are not aware that it is basically the Wends, a Central European masterrace.
There really are Slavs, but Wends are no part of it. Wends are different, much more civilized and stuff. This is essential for you to realize. Slavs often include Wends, but basically it's Slavs with Wends added. All the so called "Western Slavs" are really Wends
>lemme tell you about your country Out of all the autonomous communities you picked the two with separatism, nice one lad Basques call themselves basques even if they do speak Spanish, same goes for catalans, pretty much everyone when in Spain will say they're from X in Y. Also, Castilian is what it's called, you may not like it but that's how it is, as I said in my first post there's no common language for all of the country. Soy de Madrid, pero tú a lo tuyo.
The only difference is that "castellano" is used to differentiate between Catalan and what we know as "Spanish", however the Real Academia strongly suggests one uses the term "español" therefore it must be true. Jordis do not need to reply to this post.
They took so long to add words like CD-ROM (which would be written as 'cederrón') that there is no use for them right now. That was like 6 years ago or so. Most recent changes I can recall right now is saying some words like 'sólo' did not need the accent to diferenciate from 'solo', so... Yeah, they don't really have the speakers in consideration and they no longer preserve the orthography.
Jacob White
saved
Kayden Ramirez
Alright, that sounds like a legit complaint. And yes, the "sólo" vs. "solo" debacle bothers the hell out of me too.
Must be very strange having an agency that decides what's 'right' and 'wrong' with your language

Tbqh, we have one in Sweden and that one is, unfortunately very PC. Funny thing is that the Swedish Academy has recently been shook by a sex scandal. Kek.

Yeah it seems like pretty much every language apart from English has some sort of agency curating it, it's very odd. I don't want to imagine a sex scandal in a linguistics institute
Logan Ward
They should stick to orthography and adapting the meaning of words, maybe adapting any foreign words into Spanish. English should have one, at least to keep those pesky Americans and their disgusting "orthography" at bay.
Tyler Cox
the quality is off the charts with this one
Lincoln Anderson
>I don't want to imagine a sex scandal in a linguistics institute Well this time you'll have to. Pic related is one of the guys with whom all of this started. Is it just me or does he look like your average Hollywood pedo director?
That's strange, the whole 'adapting words into spanish' is the most annoying bit to me. It just seems insulting. For example, when we discovered the platypus, we gave it a name, the platypus, because the English discovered it (not counting aboriginals) But no, that's not good enough, you have Finnish autists or whatever deciding that no it's actually called a beakanimal or whatever. We do kind of have an authority, the dictionary, but yeah there are different ones around the world. I like allowing English to evolve naturally tbf but of course English will never be under threat so I suppose we're in a luxury position
William Bennett
damn wtf
Jackson Allen
Looks like a cartoon character, what a specimen
Julian Williams
It's beautiful, Imagine him lying on top of you.
Eli Rodriguez
By adapting them into Spanish I mean words like 'fútbol' and such. >Jean Claude Arnault Ah, yeah your average Swedish. This.
Gavin Martinez
It's castillian. According to the 1978 constitution:
>Section 3 >1. Castilian is the official Spanish language of the State. All Spaniards have the duty to know it and the right to use it >2.The other Spanish languages shall also be official in the respective Self-governing Communities in accordance with their Statutes. >3.The richness of the different linguistic modalities of Spain is a cultural heritage which shall be specially respected and protected.
The royal academy of the language is more knowledgeable than politicians, Spanish is Language of Spain, catalan is french influenced spanish, Basque country always spoke spanish
Brayden Reed
Kill yourself, mutt.
Jonathan Walker
Tell me your demographic.
Ian Rivera
it's a Jow Forums meme, coño
Nathan Hughes
>catalan is french influenced spanish Actually most linguists put Catalan in the Occitan language family, so it's closer to Spanish-influced langue d'oc.
Eli Cooper
You're not worth talking to. You're probably the same retard that insisted on the Basque Country not being industrially developed before Franco and on the expulsion of the moriscos having no effect in the Valencian economy. Do the world a favour and kill yourself.
Lucas Green
this is years old
Asher Smith
And that is why Sp*in must be destroyed.
Luke Long
You kill yourself.
Noah Lewis
You are Spanish speak Spanish and live in Spain, but yea kys.
Gavin Clark
Spain only has to become Switzerland tier decentralised for me not to hate it desu
Leo James
shut up fucking mutt.
Blake Cooper
Honestly the decentralization is almost a meme at this point. We have a shitload of retarded federal laws
You know that will never happen, and that is not the principal problem. When Spain was a backward shithole like in the medieval ages where everyone lived and died in their irrelevant villages, then the situation was kinda ok because these ethincities did not have to share a common place this has changed and will probably only get worse, now you can find places where there are 3 ethincities living in the same city or even more.
Adrian Green
>Only 3 states low test
Wyatt Jones
you don't know shit
old portuguese-galician, leonese, old castillian, aragonese and catalan all were somewhat close.
the only reason that no longer is the case is because one idiotic/insecure castillian king imported a fake language from a monastery from la rioja and made it the new official high language. Centuries after, during the absolutist years, that language (spanish, because calling it castillian is silly) was standardized and forced through education (as was happening elsewhere).
modern portuguese, leonese and catalan still have some common ground in pronunciation, moreso than modern castillian

How is mozarabic more legitimate than modern Spanish?

Castillian is the language of the foreigner, that is the reality.
Justin Bell
As is mozarabic

Granting citizenship to retarded terrible propagandist shitty subversive kikes was a mistake.

I aint a kike, Jow Forumstard. Now get the fuck out of here castillian shill.

Yeah, the arabs brought latin into Iberia kek
Lucas Lewis
Are you retarded? Moz ARABIC its from invaders
William Lopez
Mozarabic was a romance language with a heavy arabic influence, not the other way around Not that user, but I personally find it very cool.
Jacob Nelson
There was no mozarabic prior to ARABIC invader ruling class.
Chase Rivera
>Being this retarded
No, It wasnt. It is called mozarabic because It was spoken by the christians that lived in the muslims kingdoms. The real name is "latino"/latinus.
Joshua Powell
Your ancestors spoke spanish, spoke mozarabic, spoke latin prior to that.
Benjamin Rivera
neither was castillian
in fact none of the modern languages existed de-facto, then. You had latin, macarronic latin (i.e pleb-speak that originated modern languages), gothic (due to goths) and a few remains of the origninal languages spoken by locals (mostly assimilated by pleb-speak)
mozarabic was the language of the iberian plebians + some arabic words/expressions that stuck out (some are still used in castillian)
Justin Carter
This is Jow Forums. Some of us don't waste our lives on Jow Forums daily.

Yeah, spanish because It was imposed into the local population that was by the way mostly formed on Old christians. Spanish is the language of the rootless castillian.

>spain is an artificial country of union of various tribes who united as a single people >spain should be dismantled as a fake country that has a union of 170k sq miles and 40 million population because...
my countrymen really embarass me sometime >Only place that calls spanish castillian are argentinians not really. it makes more sense to say Castillian than spanish because in spain theres multiple languages
pretty much all countries that dont speak castillian call it spanish its kinda like calling English "British", when Britain is just the country, and england the actual kingdom where the language originated. So if Spain has several languages (and people actually use them unlike Welsh) it just makes sense to call it Castillian, since it comes from the proud kingdom of CASTILLA
Nathaniel Murphy
The official Spanish academy calls it Spanish, standardized Spanish Latin.
Grayson James
The other Spanish latin dialects of Spanish latin are simply remnants of non educated rural people.
Castillia ceased to exist in tge 1500s, the country became Spain.
Ethan Lewis
The official Spanish academy also accepted murciegalo, almóndiga, toballa, and other retarded shit that was somewhat popular among low IQ scum From a objective point of view, Castillian is the best name for the language that way you would also avoid repeating similar words when you say "Spanish from Spain". Castillian from Spain sounds so much better. Like "British English". You wouldn't say "British British" would you? you couldn't be more wrong, people speak those "dialects" (retard) in urban areas and in their job with no issue. there was a resurgence of galician and catalan literature in the early 20th century that really helped raise awareness about the beauty of the regional languages. Galician itself was considered better for poetry and singing since 9 centuries ago due to its sonority, while castillian was considered "rougher" and more burocratic so to speak.
