>first browser based blockchain >mini-blockchain technology >possibility to become a node/mine/transaction directly from your browser in seconds >nothing to install, just connect on a website and do everything you could do with Bitcoin >coinhive but totally decentralized and without the 30% fees >entire new way to monetize internet and to do micro-payments with PoW >designed from the start to be ultra user friendly >cute avatar randomly generated for each address >ultra-competent german team composed of security experts and white hat led by a silicon valley veteran from Switzerland >20 times more onchain transaction capacities than Bitcoin >ASIC + quantum resistant (performance based on the cache of your CPU) >launch before April >totally under the radar
Mine it even with your playstation or your fridge if you can.
does this testnet get me NET tokens? or is it just the test? Should i leave this open 24/7?
Robert Cruz
>You are using the Nimiq Testnet. Testnet Mining does not create permanent Nimiq. >The Testnet and your Testnet Nimiq balance may be reset at any time.
The current version on the testnet is the release candidate, they delivered it the 2 April. Right now they are doing interface tweak and the last stress tests the network + testing the mining client and the pool for browser mining.
They even say this could have been released last week without a single issue but they are perfectionists and have an autistic attention to detail (which is kind of annoying as everyone want it out already). With that in my mind I would say they will announce a date this week and release the next one, I heard they are doing some QA with some guys in the community.
>They even say this could have been released last week without a single issue but they are perfectionists and have an autistic attention to detail No they’re not, they’re German, and that’s a good thing
Jonathan Thomas
so the Nimiq is almost $2, so you get like $8k if you get a block reward
Lincoln Anderson
It's a good thing if you bought in March but if you are waiting for the mainnet since November of the last year it gets old.
At one point you have to take a decision and release because it will never be perfect anyway (despite having vastly superior user experience than any coin around). Everyday without mainnet is one missed opportunity, especially since the market is going sideway and there is not too much noise compared to the last months, now is the perfect window for a launch.
Henry Davis
Wait so its on testnet? I made an account/wallet but the official thing hasnt launched yet? Im confused shoudl i not bother yet? Either way this seems cool thanks op
Logan Howard
Main net when?
Christopher Phillips
so is there any chance ill make money off this or nah?

I see what you’re saying, but at the same time I trust that they’re aware of the circumstances and wouldn’t allow that to damage their efforts. Germans want everything to be perfect, and I’m guessing they’ve evaluated having a perfected product a bit later as being a better outcome than an imperfect product sooner.
Angel Moore
thanks user, I will try this on my 6-core Xeon E6 at work.
Thomas Rivera
are you faggots not reading this?
Jeremiah Reed
Yeah it’s a testnet, no real reason to mine right now, seems like a cool project though.
Landon Reyes
You made an account/wallet on the testnet which is temporary, once the mainnet is live you will have to remake one (however it's possible you can reload the account with the 24 recovery words but of course the balance and transactions will be reset).
You tell me, I'm bullish because imo it's the first real normie friendly coin. Electroneum did a good effort at it (and made me some good gains in january) but the developers are overall just too mediocre, also the concept was not pushed to its limits like with Nimiq. Everyone think his bags will make him rich though but I'm convinced it has the potential to become viral.
You can do better, try the skypool miner (search on google) and change the windows variable to UV_THREADPOOL_SIZE = 100 (if you don't know how to do it check the discord), I would say you can reach 3-4
Does this mean that NET token is a good investment right now, or should I wait until they release their own chain? NET has a really low marketcap right now.
Easton Roberts
So the tokens you mine right now don't transfer over once mainnet is released
Evan Bailey
Holding NET since ICO. Heard some pajeet has already been shilling this on indian forums and there will be 1000s of poo in loos competing for hashrate at launch. If it was really worth mining it OP would never post this and rent servers himself. I've rented one so far but cancelled the rest. OP, fuck you and your pajeet family for killing this opportunity. Filthy fucking cunts

Kek that's some bottom tier demoralization. But it's true that I don't care about doing money on mining, I care about coin distribution on the long term and the less the hashrate and coins are concentrated in the hands of rigfags the better it is for the whole project, devs picked an egalitarian algo for a reason.
I will keep talking about it everywhere and as loud I can so that a lot of people can be on board for the launch, how does it make you feel?
Tbh still comfy, my bags are loaded and waiting in genesis. If mining is infested with pajeets there's nothing I can do. However if the user telling it was larping, hashrate will still be low and you won't make a difference F

so i wont make any money mining on test net now? im confused
James Perez
This is pretty damn slick looking. Going to keep an eye on this, hopefully I can catch the mainnet launch early.
I'm guessing that getting a block will be like winning the lottery though.
There will be an official pool and at least 3-4 others.
You are mining coins that will be deleted once the mainnet is launched, so no you don't make any money right now, it's a beta basically.
NET are ERC 20 tokens that were distributed during the ICO. 1 NET can be converted in 100 NIM, in total all the NET (10 500 000) correspond to 1.05 billion pre-mined NIM (in total there will be 21 billions NIM, basically just like Bitcoin but x1000).
You are making the assumption the pajeets will have decent mining power. They probably have shitty 10 dollar phones and it would be like mining concrete with a toothpick for them.
Jaxon Price
>that pic LMAO oh wow
Gabriel Kelly
>filename
Lmao
Logan Gomez
where is the miner?i don't want to use a browser to mine it
Jonathan Gomez
you are fucking retarded - you're mining worthless testnet coins
Caleb Bailey
you should've bought a Ryzen 7 1800X to go with your gtx 1080 ftw
Kevin Lewis
Disappointed it wasn't real bestiality. Was just hanging out at a degenerate's house and was humped by a dog.
Dominic Roberts
>they have a literal wizard on their team truly /ourcoin/
You can convert through their KYC if you contact their community manager (however if you are american you can't because of some legal thing in the US, the whole thing will remain open for 6 months).
Once you pass the whole process you have basically access to an account converting the NET you send to it in NIM automatically.
If you can't pass the KYC and have NET just wait for the mainnet, there will most likely be a ton of people doing arbitrage on the NET/NIM value, some guy already talked about a bot on their discord.
I like this coin. I will mine once mainnet is released. I got about ~7khz on my new AMD CPU so about one block every 8 hours or so according to the testnet.
Charles Sullivan
Holy shit one of the rare good threads on Jow Forums Getting 3.9KH/s on i5-2400 4 threads 100% cpu usage cpu temps at 47c. currently I have 0.0039/3.0= 0.0013 or 0.13% of miming a block. That means that 769 blocks need to be tried for me to have 100% chance to mine 1 block. Right now there are aproximately 2-3 block/min, so i need 5 hours to mine 1 block. Site says 11 hours since 3.9 is my max and falls sometimes. This reminds me of PacalCoin, made some nice 20$,missed a day could have been 200. you need to set the maximum threads by clicking the question mark on your hashrate.Tell me if it increases it.
Anthony Bell
So I'm guessing this is running in javascript... Whats stopping someone from running that on a gpu and killing the hashrate?
Mason Ross
That's what I was thinking, trying to find a way(theoretical at least). I just checked pascalcoin and if I sols my coins today I would have 1,800$ ,but what can you do...
