He look like a young Fidel Castro
JUSTIN TRUDEAU
Diversification of the economy. But as an user has already hinted, it's hard to tell if he will succeed. We lost a good deal of our tech industry under Harper, just as Silicon Valley was really gathering steam.
I voted for him for three reasons:
1. Not Harper
2. Clearly defined proposals for diversifying the economy and improving infrastructure
3. Well-chosen cabinet ministers
>Trump
>51% approval
You are either extremely deluded or just greatly ignorant
>3. Well-chosen cabinet ministers
Didn't he pick an exact ratio of women and minorities?
Women and minorities who were most qualified for their posts, yes. That's much better than limiting yourself to a pool of old white men because you're stuck in a last-century logic where the smallest diversity will scare off voters.
Gender is balanced, I think. Not sure about minorities. But his candidates for key posts in the government were people that, at a first glance, were well-qualified. The Minister of National Defence is a veteran; the former Minister of Foreign Affairs has a very long history in diplomacy.
>A finite resource is assigned a subjectively assigned value
What exactly makes you thing that not taking factors in account that are beyond a person’s control is last-century logic and equals limiting yourself to a pool that exclusively consists of old white men? Why can’t you just pick a person who is most qualified for their post, regardless of them being a woman or minority? In practise this will mean that you will have to reject people just because they don't tick these arbitrary boxes.
Minorities are already being rejected on implicit account of factors that are beyond their control. He picked the most qualified people of diverse backgrounds and marketed it as a move towards better representation. This is something more parties pledge to do now that they see the political climate is conducive to this and if they can broaden their pool of applicants to have a better chance of finding better candidates, more power to them.
