Thoughts on Texas? I'm not texan btw just wondering

Where does the steroetype that anglo canadians don't hold their culture in high regard come from? Is it accurate?

For Texas, a common idea Circulates throughout Canada: "Alberta is the Texas of Canada"
I think it's pretty valid, alot of conservative people and the love of cowboys/country is quite abundant.
For Anglo Canadians, it probably is in regards as to how we dont like living under the queen of England. Hell, she still dictates what Canada should and should not do through the Governor General, a figure head pretty much. The ones who DO care about their heritage and stuff like that are the francophones. But in the country today, they are pretty much just a bunch of cucks.

On a scale of 1-10 how much do you like your province?

Tbh, it was great growing up but shits changed , mainly our economy
Oil is our biggest money maker and it basically died
I like the environment and activities you can do here, but the people suck alot of the time

What's Alberta like?

Not him but I think I have a much better answer. The stereotype comes from the fact that (anglo) Canada has been dominated culturally by by Britain and the United States for the entirety of its history. Canada has had so little influence and so little unique development not related to Britain or America that we've come to the (at least subconscious) conclusion that this country has no real culture. No famous or respected artist in the world is considered such a "Canadian" artist. In terms of literature Britain has George Orwell and Charles Dickens, men who are specifically British. America has F Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain, Poe etc. While Canada has what? Margaret Atwood maybe? And even she often just writes about America. It's not hard to see why we don't take our culture seriously, no one else in the world does.

Cowboys, Country, Oil, VERY unpredictable weather (eg It snowed today), racists and bikers. But its nice.
