Why are the platforms so small?

Good public transport is communism, don't you know?

The lady cleaning the train tried to steal it and derailed it into a house

is that the new line that took forever to be finished?

tartu

Attached: 854023t1ha36a.jpg (685x410, 65K)

Thanks for buying out busses

and this is what we use to get from tartu to bigger towns like tallinn or riga etc

they fit the climate, don't rust and shit like that i guess

Attached: qweqwed.jpg (660x420, 41K)

buses are for weak tallinners, we ride motorcycles

Because it's all like 100 years old

i don't even take the bus in tartu, i just walk. buses are full of kids and pensioners :D

and this is the kind of bus you take when going about in the county to smaller towns

Attached: maakonnaliin.jpg (628x480, 80K)

Driverless buses later this year :)

Attached: ruter_buss.jpg (940x627, 152K)

lol you fell for the meme too :DD

Attached: 7382277t1hb5dd.jpg (685x410, 66K)

That seems very inefficient.

Attached: Metro Amsterdam.jpg (1600x1067, 1.27M)

idk about inefficiency, but they look so silly

because it is, they were fucking slow and despite being "self driving" they still needed an instructor on board. You could also fit only like 5 people on them and they could only do a couple of kilometers before they ran out of juice.

How does it know if you've paid tho

>an instructor on board
What? Basically someone who will press the STOP! button when it starts hitting people?

we have rfid cards that we use on public transport to validate ourshelves

someone who'd literally tell it when to stop because the only thing it was able to do was follow a few kilometers long pre-defined route

That doesn't really answer the question

? you validate yourself by swiping the card against a machine that goes beep or bleep and by that transaction your card is deduced the right amount ? what is there to further understand

Attached: ddna5ihg.wcq.jpg (646x363, 38K)

Ah I understand that mate I'm just wondering how does it know if you haven't paid, and what does it do?

I'm just thinking of ways it could be cheated.

>scan card
>door opens
>you go inside

Not that hard to understand lad

>I'm just thinking of ways it could be cheated.
Magnets! Not even kidding.

Hmm but what if me and my lad go in and the same time

>I'm just thinking of ways it could be cheated.
just walk on the bus/tram/train and don't validate yourself. people will give you strange looks, but it works unless the driver starts giving you shit. i've done that when i forgot my card in another town. it was embarrasing, but hey, with a broken leg i got sympathy points :DD

there is a high level of trust between parties in the civilised world

oh and you have to be on the look out for the municipal police who comes on to check your card if it has been validated

Is that common?

It happens all the time here, but sometimes cops will come on board and ask for proof of payment (ticket).

people get lazy so they don't validate themselves even while having the card with them. once a police officer walks on board they just do a fast swipe and all is cool

Here they will just say that you better make sure you buy one for next time or they make you pay on your phone with the public transportation app or sms.

Pretty reasonable. How much is the fare?

>faster than crossing via the closest bridge
>regular travel passes/tickets work on them
>has a bar onboard

>his city still doesnt have a scheduled boat service

Attached: ujra-kikot.jpg (700x467, 81K)

funikular? why yes a mountainous country like eesti needs them desperately lol xD

There's something too familiar with these

My city does tho

Attached: 1200px-Spirit_of_America_-_Staten_Island_Ferry.jpg (1200x757, 164K)

scania perhaps?

Depends really. One fare gets you a ticket valid for 70min and then you can use it as much as you want during those 70min and that is around ~4 Euro. Then you can buy day/3 day/week/month/season passes etc that obviously are a lot less expensive to use.

iirc there were two of those ferries. one was a payed option and the other one ran for free

oh, but we doo.

Attached: djurgårdsfärjan.jpg (769x444, 115K)

Thanks for buying our old buses

Attached: scania.jpg (720x480, 117K)

I take this one to work during summers. Takes 15min longer than if I'm going by metro by they have free coffee on board and are really comfy inside.

You may be thinking of the Long Island ferry. As far as I'm aware there is no paid ferry to Staten Island, only a free ferry.

inside

Attached: 1280px-MS_Gurli_20170723_bild_05.jpg (1279x960, 314K)

about ten years back i had to take that ferry and i was standing in line to get a ticket when some locals told me i was a dumbass for not taking the freebie... idk things might have changed

they're brand new and afaik developed by scania and some spanish company

LMAO WHAT YEAR IS THIS?

These are the newest high buses on the market. The only thing annoying about them is that whenever you're walking around in the city you automatically get connected to their wifi

Attached: skånetrafiken.jpg (1200x703, 156K)

Did you enjoy NYC?

That's a big bus

no idea. i moved here about 5 or so years ago and they were here
yep, nice safe city and neat small bars. bit expensive it was for me as a student tho

3 entrances, all with their own seperate card-reader for your bus card. But nobody uses cards anymore which makes them pretty useless because there's only 1 reader for the phone and that's in the front

>skåne

Attached: 1517276806099.jpg (348x494, 34K)

ALL ABOARD THE SANTA TRAIN!

Attached: train-1.jpg (800x533, 79K)

Why does malmö need this dildo on wheels?

Yeah it is extremely expensive. A bus/train fare is $2.75 now.
You were an exchange student or on vacation?

We objectively got the best buses and bussystem in all of Sweden tho

old buses were too shitty and small

Attached: a0103c46-7dc7-4df0-b488-fdc41e4de918.jpg (1500x996, 498K)

i was on summer vacation for three months. lucky for me i have friends who work there so i saved a shitload on accommodation and food

No need for buses when you've got trams and subways

Attached: image_gallery_1195157629_961923.jpg (375x375, 31K)

As long as I don't have to live in Skåne I'm fine being a few years behind in public transport

Attached: images (4).jpg (478x308, 30K)

>his city doesn't have driver less subway trains
Fucking third worlders

Fugg we 1st world nao!

Would literally never happen here. Public transportation union is too powerful, driver less systems would put thousands out of jobs
