Why isn't the information age making Americans less Christian? It was supposed to be a new age of enlightenment. The old internet was heavily anti-religion but somewhere along the way it all went so wrong.

It's just edgy counter-culturist teenangers doing their thing.
Happens every 50 years
I still don't know how this information age isn't making America less willing to help Israel. I believe 'IRaq has nuclear weapons' fake news should be enough
>Why isn't the information age making Americans less Christian?
It is. Atheist/irreligious/unaffiliated is higher than ever
It's happening, see pic related, just slower than in the other first world countries. That's because the average American is less educated and has less economic stability than the average Western European or Australian.
Oh, and Americans are more isolated to other cultures too. Isolationist helps perpetuation.
this movie was cringey shit
Because it's making them smarter.
The fact that that quote is attributed to some rando annoys the shit out of me
t. /lit/
Cant wait until I'm in heaven laughing down on all the sinners
Where did it originate from then?
I probably would have been a degenerate atheist liberal had it not been for the internet.
The internet has caused an increase in irreligion, but it has also caused a revival of traditional Christianity.
on how many layers of autism are you on OP?
pride is a sin user.
I won't be committing this sin until I'm already in heaven.
I forgive you all by the way. I'm sure God does as well
why would more information make people less christian? If anything it would make them more religious because they can verify everything in the bible from multiple sources
That's not true. Americans are not less educated than other westerns. The percentage of Americans who pursue high education is higher than most of europe and the west.
>somewhere along the way it all went so wrong
Somewhere along the way a few eloquent types realized that the importance of Christianity, as the foundational religion of the west, was an integral part of the community and culture that guided people to act as a group instead of isolated, materialistic individuals. This has never been more prevalent or more important than right now where a huge culture that actually behaves like a group is intending a hostile takeover, and there is nothing to prevent it.
Faith, or belief in something above mankind, be it moral guidance or holy spirit, is the most powerful weapon a community can ever hold onto. Just watch any documentary of some 30 year old blonde woman in a foreign country seeing how some village or entire city prays or sings in unison and is just completely blown away by their spirit, it happens all the time and they think it's because these people are totally unique or something.
Beyond this, a lot of people who are ACTUALLY smart and not internet smart recognize the huge advancements in technology, philosophy, literature, and society brought about by the people in ages of christendom and are tired of idiots mocking these time periods for things that are completely wrong.
Facebook opened up the internet to every boomer and mouthbreather in America. web 2.0 was a mistake
>A global study that tests and compares 15-year old students' science, math and reading literacy in developed and developing countries confirms that the United States is still falling behind. The evaluative study entitled Program for International Student Assessment, was first administered in 2000 and was performed again in 2003, 2006 and most recently, in 2009.
The US has the worst education of the developed world by far.
You said less educated, not the quality of education. The pisa test doesn't matter that much. Google how pisa works, it doesn't suit american kids who choose their own pace of education. You can't just rate our whole education system by one test. Asian torture education sucks balls btw and is only focused for testing cancer.
Meant to quote this guy
Also first world countries don't have that much blacks and latinos. France and uk which are pretty diverse are actually close to us because of the same reason
>an integral part of the community and culture that guided people to act as a group
Wrong. That was nationalism.
>Faith, or belief in something above mankind, be it moral guidance or holy spirit
Insert 'the state''
why the fuck would anyone want to be attributed that logical fallacy?
The speed of information is faster than ever before but it favors knowledge and ignorance equally.
The internet can be just as easily used to spread lies and misinformation as it can be to spread truth and fact. All the information age has done is make it easier for religion to reach a wider audience. Atheism is on the rise but only with younger people. Deconverting those who have been devoutly religious for years is nearly impossible. However it seems like even the younger generation is in danger as gen-z appears to be more right leaning and thus susceptible to religion so we're going to have to be vigilant in the upcoming years.
Christcucks are pathetic
this nihilistic viewpoint is not healthy
>Also first world countries don't have that much blacks and latinos
Funny you say that, since black and latinos are more religious than whites and latinos in the US.
Yeah, I think an all powerful omnipotent God can see through your bullshit.
It's scary when you see your worst fears about diversity confirmed in statistics.
what if I studied science and proved by experimenting lots of the fundamental theories of the universe and how other theories derive from that
If anything the internet made me more religious, seeing how retarded, childish and petty atheists are discredited atheism for me.
>Atheist claim that only empirical evidence constitutes knowledge >doesn't have any empirical evidence for this >doesn't know that a priori reasoning is a necessary precondition for knowledge >atheist will try to argue against this and think they solved the problem at the entire field of epistemology Isn't it time for atheist to escape false dichotomy?
