Hey based Brazilbros, I’m hoping to move to South Brazil and culturally enrich there. Would it be easy for a beta Asian male?
Hey based Brazilbros, I’m hoping to move to South Brazil and culturally enrich there...
You will be treated as a Brazilian
Good to know. There are lots of things I want ask though, especially finding a job. I’m studying Computer Science/Engineering and I’m not sure if my degree from a Korean uni will let me have a decent job there. Also, is fluency in Portuguese a must?
>Also, is fluency in Portuguese a must?
Yes, it really yes. Nobody knows english, also there is a Korean diaspora in São Paulo in a district call Bom Retiro. There are tons of koreans there and restaurants
why the fug would a Korean want to move to Brazil?
You could ask the same about literally all diasporas here
Most diasporas here are Ahmeds living in France or Britain. It's obvious why they went there. But I don't think Brazil has enough welfare to move halfway across the world for it.
I should be fluent at it to settle down indeed, but I did hear that some foreigners who work there use only English at their jobs. I don’t think I would be living in SP tho, and Asians are nearly non-exsitent in the city I’m planning to move to.
I have a Brazilian girlfriend who wants me to come there and live with her. That’s okay for me since I hate my life here.
We have literally 0 welfare. It's just that most of them already got families here that have earned some money with commerce or farms and call their families here. It's basically that, especially the japanese/koreans. Koreans dominate the textiles industry in São Paulo.
what city?
Joinville
>Koreans dominate the textiles industry in São Paulo
Well yeah, that’s what most Korean immigrants do for work in Latin America
There are tons of asians in South Brazil, almost all of them are japanese. And since Joinville is near Curitiba, it's really common.
Really? From what I know South Brazil is almost entirely white. my gf said she’s barely seen any Asians in her neighborhood.
What gets my attention is the job opportunities open for me in the city. I once read that it’s the tech center of the country.
You’re the only Brazilian poster here, right? I bet most other posters aren’t on this board at this hour. I wonder if this thread will be ever noticed by them..
>Really? From what I know South Brazil is almost entirely white. my gf said she’s barely seen any Asians in her neighborhood.
Yes, it's not common but it isn't uncommon. Santa Catarina definetly got less Japanese diaspora than Curitiba, since it's mostly a german/italian city but everyone has seen asians, also there are people of every colors, people don't give a fuck lol, hence why people will unironically speak portuguese with you thinking you are brazilian. Because every asian here is brazilian.
>What gets my attention is the job opportunities open for me in the city. I once read that it’s the tech center of the country.
Yeah, there are tons of high tech chemistry and machinery industries there.
yes and meh they will soon appear.
Judging by the thread, you'll probbly be fine. As long as you know Portuguese you'll blend right in, just be prepared to be the “japanese” guy. ^^"
>culturally enrich
>beta Asian male
It's way more more likely that you'll get encriched by a bunch of narco homos.
>hence why people will unironically speak portuguese with you thinking you are brazilian
Hmm then I gotta practice a lot before moving.
My gf has been telling me not to be too concerened about job. Idk how much I should trust her, she actually said that companies there would ask for your degree and that’s all to give you an interview, no matter how good your uni is. So.. no GPA, no experiences, no special skills or any other stuffs needed? Maybe for the citizens there but not for a foreigner like me.
>they will soon appear
Oh good. I won’t lose my hope then
>Maybe for the citizens there but not for a foreigner like me.
Nah, you will probably do fine, if anything they will prefer if you are foreigner, because university here is shit, but focus on learning portuguese, because that is important as fuck
So just as in the US, do Brazilians view Asians as “Japanese vs the others”?
no we view everyone as japanese lmao
We assume unknown Asians are Chinese
The last beta asian brazilian that I saw killed himself.
I hope you're intelligent. Bitches dig high IQ.
I would prolly kill myself if I were here anyway
>I hope you're intelligent
What’s the standard for intelligence there?
really low lmao
But I doubt that the locals would consider me “intelligent” unless I speak Portuguese almost perfectly like they do
>Leavinf a first world country to come live in here
You must be crazy.
Anway, between Rio de Janeiro and any other city, go to any other city.
Rio de Janeiro is pure violence.
>You must be crazy
According to what my gf says, the working environment seems to be a paradise compared to here.
True in case of programmers and engineers (specially in the oil sector) but still, you gonna suffer a lot.
I mean, the standar of living is much lower here.
Oh, and like I said, go to São Paulo or on of these computer engineering hubs. DON'T GO TO RIO!
How safe is South Brazil? My standard of “safe” is whether it’s safe to walk alone at midnight to anywhere in a walk distance from your home
As long is not Rio, is safe.
São Pualo is dangerous if compared to a small town (obviously), but the night life never stops so is pretty safe if compared to Rio.
Still, is not as safe as your cities. We have niggers in here afterall.
