I will have to study in depth the validity of some of those claims because it seem that most of them are based on translations done by people with an obvious ideological agenda in the last century, the problem with colours in ancient Greece and Rome are many, from the fact that they didn't "see" or "understood" the same scope as us, to the fact that they used very arbitrary things to describe them (color of the wine, color of the wheat, etc.) to the fact that Roman and Greek societies used to dye their hair (blonde and black mostly) and used wigs, so at least some skepticism is required.

Also, Med populations have always been like that, with blonde and dark haired people even in the same family, pic very related. Just don't take some random Med with blonde hair and extrapolate from that that all Meds were blonde.
