Safety

Isnt sex and sexual inimicy the same fucking thing?

muh dick

>love/belonging
>physiological
Obviously they're separating the physical and emotional aspects of the act. I.E. having unfulfilling sex with hookers just to get off might fulfill the physiological tier, but not necessarily the Love/belonging one like passionately shagging with a significant other.

how's it work if you have self-actualization but not much safety, love, or esteem

There’s an overlapping version where it’s more fluid

I'm stuck at excretion guys. Help.

Lmao checked

You may be a creative, smart individual, but if you don't have enough safety, love, or esteem, then how are you self-actualized?

Can you or another user post it?

safety. my parents love me but I don’t have friends and have never been desirable

masoshi's hierarchy:

Physiological:
internet connection

Safety:
nano S ledger

love/belonging:
posting hodl on reddit

esteem:
holding a diverse portfolio of shitcoins and being respected by your peers for how great the acronyms are

self-actualization:
pink wojakd

>Physiological
>Sex
Uh.... I don't think i'm on the pyramid right now.

beats me m80, maybe the requirements are just less than I thought for each step. I've got family in another city, one friend, a girl I see now and again, and a job so I guess that does hit each

mostly the words under self-actualization seem to be "you have freedom" which I do

>As Abraham Maslow noted, the basic needs of humans must be met (e.g. food, shelter, warmth, security, sense of belonging) before a person can achieve self-actualization – the need to be good, to be fully alive and to find meaning in life. Yet, Maslow argued that reaching a state of true self-actualization in everyday society was fairly rare. Research shows that when people live lives that are different from their true nature and capabilities, they are less likely to be happy than those whose goals and lives match. For example, someone who has inherent potential to be a great artist or teacher may never realize his/her talents if their energy is focused on attaining the basic needs of humans.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-actualization

This is good but one thing isn't clear, morality is mentioned twice. So which level is it at really?

This section explains what Maslow categorizes as a self-actualizer:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-actualization#Maslow's_characteristics_of_self-actualizers

Self-actualization, according to this picture.
Still want to kms

Same

Sex on the bottom rung is more along the lines of release through masturbation or else most of you fags wouldn't even be on the ladder

I've been stuck on physiological for 10 years now

If you want to kill yourself, then you are not really self-actualized. You have room for improvement.

What you say makes perfect sense. However, I believe I fit all of these characteristics, except maybe for "Task centering" (even if my line of work can be described as "pursuing something beyond yourself", I'm a researcher).
I think I'm just missing the enjoyment of it all.

Do you have a passion for your field of work/study? Do you feel like it is what you were meant to do in this world?

Self-actualization 100%, and I have all the below things. Still not entirely happy, but also accept that life is not about being happy all the time. Just trying to do my best, whatever the fuck that means.

I used to be ecstatic about it, because we are solving a major problem in an important sector of the industry. Now it just feels like a pointless rat race for publications and I just want to trade my stocks/shitcoins and call it a day desu

Well, that explains it. You hit a wall, and longer enjoy your work. You need some excitement in your life. Is there anything you can change to improve the situation?

Pretty much all of it. I'm not married yet but meh

Not sure how morality is on the the same level as bodily security and below friendship
What kind of morality are they talking about?

It's exactly what I've been thinking about lately. I've been thinking about finally following the "buy a motorcycle and travel anywhere" dream (been planning that for years but still havent got around to it). I don't know if this solves the problem, but it's the only thing I feel is missing

BTW, are you a psychologist? I've been thinking about seeing one because it feels funny to "have it all" and still hate everything most of the time. You kind of sound like one, though maybe it's just what I've been wanting to hear

Notice that there are two tiers of morality listed on the pyramid, with the second at the very top.

The bottom one. Thats what happens when you get JUSTed over and over again :(

This pyramid has been proven wrong
Somerimrs need for affection prevails. Actually, many social aspects lie at the very base of our behaviour.

Still, wad does it mien?

The biggest flaw I see in this hierarchy, is that you can totally have many of the things without the others, on a given level
You can have friendship, family, sexual intimacy, confidence, selfworth, and sometimes even respect while being unemployed or poor / having no property

>Esteem
>Love/belonging
get that gay shit outta here

If you've been planning for years, consider making it a priority and figuring out how you can make it happen sooner.

I am not a psychologist l, but I like casually learning about psychology and may start reading some more material on the subject.

>I'm thinking about seeing one
I would say go for it. Seeing a psychologist can benefit many people. I bet they could really help you. Find one you like, and put your trust into them (it's really important that you feel comfortable and can open up to them). I see no downsides to trying.

> what level of jewboys hierarchy of bullshit

Born in 1908 and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Maslow was the oldest of seven children and was classed as "mentally unstable" by a psychologist.[citation needed]

His parents were first generation Jewish immigrants

>find one you like/trust
I doubt you will have to go psych hopping or anything like that -- just a concern I personally have as I can have trouble opening up, you may be different.

>I would say go for it. Seeing a psychologist can benefit many people.
Yeah, I think you're right. I find psychology interesting too, but haven't read much beyond Jung. The more I get frustrated with engineering, the more I read about other fields of study and they all look interesting as fuck.

It's one of the main reasons why I still havent bit the bullet. I prefer to open up about certain things in anonymous congolese stamp-collecting forums. But psych hopping is better than not seeing one at all, I guess.

Thanks a lot for the conversation, stranger. I've been telling some of these things to myself but it doesn't sound true until someone else says it.

Can't get past physiological because no gf

Attached: 1522979975510.jpg (421x562, 82K)

What is below physiological faggot?

The morality at "safety" is about you being able to have a personal morality that is not suppressed by oppressive governments/religion/family etc. The "self-actuation" morality is about you being able to fulfill your moral obligations such as helping all your friends/families and being able to do what you think is right.

So in short the bottom morality is about you being ALLOWED to have a personal morality that differs from others. The top one is about you having the means to FULFILL your moral obligations. A good example would be Bill Gates and his Foundation that tries to tackle diseases and extreme poverty.

I personally remember when I was still a poor college student I didn't think about morality and only about personal gain. But now that I am a business owner that is doing pretty well I am caring about the needs of the people around me as all my personal needs are already being taken care of. This is also a good gauging method to quickly see if someone is poor or not. If they dismiss morality and focus on personal gain they are very likely to be a lowerclass or lower-middle class citizen.

Bit late, but you're welcome. Best of luck.

Also, bump.

Nah a gf is Love/Belonging. For just sex I think masturbation counts.

Physiological

If you advance one more step you become a normie, you don't want to be a normie.

I disagree. Somehow I feel that true normies are never completely self-actualized. You can advance to the top and not be a normie, as long as you're not a complete shut-in either.

Nothing. You start at meeting physiological needs, as you need all of them to live, except sex.

Sex is ingrained in our biology, and it's hard to completely eliminate though, so it's on the pyramid. If you're a virgin, you most likely still fap and get some physical release from that. Even if you're on no-fap, I can 99.99% guarantee you've fapped before if you're old enough to post here.

>security of your family is below having a family

KEK. Whoever this Maslow guy is he's a brainlet. It only makes sense because Physiological needs is on the bottom, everything else makes no sense. You can survive well with friends and family and no employment. Self-esteem and confidence is virtually a prerequisite for a healthy social life. Security of morality means? 'Lack of prejudice' is a need? Lmao.
