Honestly impressive.
that first guy smacked his damn face against the floor.
Tradition. It's irony nowadays since they arnt feudal. But proper etiquette was very important, they stopped that after Meiji so it is also a romantic look at Edo era. The most famous being a peasant in the presence of a Lord when you have drop everything, run up the road and prostrate yourself.
Lol, implying that wasn't a custom in Eurolands (muh ancesturrs) before monarchy was abolished. Maybe they didn't have to fall flat on their faces, but still, they were expected to prostrate themselves before nobility and royalty.
It's very different because they didnt just stop prostrating. The samurai Lords did not associate with peasants, did not speak to them, they have their lower samurais do it. So the peasants remained on the floor until they were gone.
The European Lords just expected a bow and no eye contact
That is certainly true. One of the reasons why western chivalry code was way superior to bushido.
thats funny
Bushido was made up later as a romantic representation. But the class system was pretty oppressive back in the day. It was a bit better during peacetime.
This is also why early Kurosawa films were so good. Peasants were the perfect represention of people without power. Especially when a Ronin becomes their gateway to representation.
Never seen a Kurosawa movie. What's worth watching besides the seven samurai? Also how did Ronin come to be?
Ronin is just a samurai without a master. The most famous being the 47 Ronin when their Lord was wronged and was forced to commit Sudoku. Ronin became huge during the end of the edo era when the lords fired lots of samurai. Had to dirty peasant jobs. The famous movie harakiri was set at that time.
Yojimbo was the most famous troupe as he is the prototype Clint Eastwood characters.
So what did those Ronin do?
Avenged their Lord and killed themselves to save their honor
Gay. I prefer Don Quixote.
Don Quixote is great.
They are dumb subhumans that act like monkeys
>Bushido was made up later as a romantic representation.
True. It was based off European knights and chivalry. It was literally made by a Japanese guy who studied in the West and became a Christian. Real samurai were pretty much thugs who raped and murdered commoners at a whim.
>Bushido was made up later as a romantic representation.
So was Chivalry.
Chivalry was developed in late 12th century. When was Bushido?
It should be a law in america you must kiss a girls feet when they are in your presence. They have the right idea
European chivalry was a real thing that existed HUNDREDS of years ago. Bushido is just a late 19th century invention based on European chivalry so that Japanese people could claim WE WUZ HONORABRUU.
>a samurai, after receiving a new katana or developing a new fighting style or weapon, tests its effectiveness by attacking a human opponent, usually a random defenseless passer-by.
sounds like something an anime villain would do
That was an entertaining gif. Have a winking dog as a show of my approval.
Too bad the japs didnt colonize western north america. That would actually give those whiny fucking abbos something to complain about. Fucking japs walking around cutting people in half and shit.
japs do this also
Me on the left last summer in Japan
Thats not true at all. The formalized concept and term "bushido" to describe the warrior code is fairly modern, but the warrior culture itself is quite old.
n*ps are literal subhumans
man this movie
so much nge reference it's not even funny
of course being a fan it was a treat
cool
literally me
Anno's Godzilla fucking SHAT and PISSED on the western Godzilla movie from a couple of years ago. There are tons of great shots just in your webm alone.
