I'm going to Portugal for a week in July with my gf. I also would like to go on a family vacation with my mom and my brother to Italy in August, but nothing's been planned yet. There's a possible weekend-trip to Belgrade on the horizon, and a museum-seeing trip to Vienna in May with my co-workers (one of whom I have a major crush on - hopefully we'll get to warm up to each other on the train).

Quite some people were really unpleasant especially when they find out you’re not a Croat/Slav. Somehow the older generation were almost always grumpy angry ungrateful fucks while young people were in general very nice and welcoming.
And the thing is I have been to Poland and Czechia so don’t give me that ‘American plastic smiles’ bullshit since people there in general were much nicer.
I don’t understand them either. Like half the economy of their coastal region is tourism but they feel too good to bother with tourists it seems even if they work in a bar serving food to tourists.

Prague might as well have been a German city. I didn’t feel like I went back in time 10 years like when you go to Poland. Very nice modern people indeed
