I've only seen white walls inside in village houses that were build 30-40 years ago and the owners (old farts) keep them white for some reason. Maybe it's a habit from communism when white was the only affordable paint.

I'm actually renting and the walls here are with some ugly wallpaper.
There's literally nothing wrong with painting your walls in some non-white colours. Even green can look good.

Don't know about Bulgaria, but traditional village homes here had white walls, so maybe that's the reason.

But all the walls in modern commieblocks and half of old ones and also in the 18th century houses are white or white-yellow, I've yet to see a green wall anywhere aside maybe Mexican restaurant
