at that time i was walking on the street and waited at the traffic light in a place of Tokyo then i felt the ground shaking wildly all cars and buses stopped there and and a few couples of mother and child got all hunkered down in the middle of a road buildings, street lamps and telegraphic wires around were swinging with big noise. i felt like it lasted for about 10 minutes. It seemed very long. but then i never would have guessed that such the terrible tsunami attacked the Tohoku district

I don't know about Kagoshima prefecture in detail either since I don't live there, but there is a world natural heritage site in Yakushima island (left one). as for Tanegashima island (right one), matchlock guns were introduced to the island for the first time by Portuguese who visit Japan as Missionaries during sengoku period. that is all I know about those islands.
