Title says "Egypt for Egyptians" and Pic shows the coptic cross.
Coptic is Egyptian written in greek alphabet which stems from proto-sinaitic that was copied and adapted by the phoenicians. Only about ~10% of Coptic's vocabulary is greek, the rest comes from demotic.
James Wilson
Easy there, Ramses, you don't want Israel to send over a plague of locusts for the second time.

Based gypsies. I respect egyptians but maghrebis are fucking subhuman.

I respect maghrebis. They have a nice culture and fortunately, aren't as arabized as Egypt. Personally, I want to start a movement to raise awareness of Coptic once I am fully fluent in it.

Are you a copt?

Hieroglyphs aren't very practical. Hieroglyphs consist of a set of core simple letters and the rest are basically just drawings that convey ideas or feelings. It's like saying "I went to Hassan's place to do something" and then adding a party emoji to express that you went there to party. It's hard to describe so forgive me for my lackluster explaination.
Thanks.
Brody Richardson

HAHAHAHHAHAHA IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

Still though, there isn't a lot of information on Hieroglyphs. Literally no one knows how 3/4 of the hieroglyphs are pronounced.
It's Coptic language. The last Egyptian language.
They weren't invited. After the fall of Byzantine, they invaded Egypt with 4000 men and it was like a walk in the park for them.
I am not religious though desu.
Ayden Turner
Oh I didn't see your post. I am not religious but I am very interested in Ancient Egyptian religion and Coptic.
Personally, I want to raise awareness of Coptic in Egypt somehow desu.
Samuel Turner
The fall of Byzantium was in 1453 dude, you guys called in Muhammad to drive the Greeks off some centuries before that to drive away those upholding orthodoxy. Blame your heretic ancestors if you are a minority in your own country
Cooper Parker
mechk 9olet enti mat7ebech el a9baat ?
Jaxson Ross
Sorry I meant after the fall of byzantine rule in Egypt.
> you guys called in Muhammad to drive the Greeks off some centuries before that to drive away those upholding orthodoxy
I have never heard or read about that. Can you please direct me to a source where it says so? I am sorry that I am not very competent when it comes to history.
>mechk 9olet enti mat7ebech el a9baat ?
la2. You're confusing me for someone else I think.
Christian Sullivan
how do we make egypt coptic again?
Cameron Watson
oh my bad it was the other massri living in egypt
William Phillips
Doing that will result in greater religious tensions in Egypt. Pre-Arabic nationalism and pan-Islamism, people thought of themselves as Egyptian then Muslim or Coptic or whatever.
I just want people to see themselves as egyptians first rather than muslim arabs or whatever.
Logan Sullivan
don't you think muslim arabs will always be susceptible to outside influences

>The ease with which Pelusium fell to the Muslim Arabs, and the lack of Byzantine reinforcements to aid the city during the month-long siege, is often attributed to the treachery of the Egyptian governor, Cyrus, who was also the Monothelite/Monophysite Patriarch of Alexandria
>On 22 December, Cyrus of Alexandria entered into a treaty with the Muslims.[22] By the treaty, Muslim sovereignty over the whole of Egypt, and effectively on Thebaid, was recognized, and the Egyptians agreed to pay Jizya at the rate of 2 diners per male adult.[15] The treaty was subject to the approval of the emperor Heraclius, but Cyrus stipulated that even if the emperor repudiated the treaty, he and the Copts of whom he was the High Priest would honor its terms, recognize the supremacy of the Muslims and pay them Jizya
>It is recorded that Cyrus requested three favors from the Muslims, namely:
>Do not break your treaty with the Copts;
>If the Byzantines after this repudiation ask for peace, do not make peace with them, but treat them as captives and slaves; and
>When I am dead allow me to be buried in the Church of St. John at Alexandria
>In the book "The Great Arab Conquests" Hugh Kennedy writes "The pious biographer of Coptic patriarch Benjamin presents us with the striking image of the patriarch prayed for the success of the Muslim commander Amr against the Christians of the Cyrenaica. Benjamin survived for almost twenty years after the fall of Egypt to the Muslims, dying of full years and honour in 661. His body was laid to rest in the monastery of St Macarius, where he is still venerated as a saint. There can be no doubt that he played a major role in the survival of the Coptic Church"[28] Coptic patriarch Benjamin also prayed for Amr when he moved to take Libya.[
Nathaniel Kelly
Depends. Nowadays, that whole Pan-Arabism and Islamism is dying down and most Egyptians dislike Gulf countries because of how much they meddle in Egypt. There might be a chance or a change of heart I don't know.
Kinda disappointed but still I don't really want a Coptic Egypt. From what I am seeing right now, I don't think it would be a good idea to advocate for Coptic Christianity. I would rather advocate for Egyptian nationalism, Secularism and revitalization of Coptic.
It might happen. I have faith.

Ah you're the Saudi who madz a thread about Arabism on Jow Forums this morning

There is 2 egyptian saudis, including me, a 21 year old muslim saudi, a 19 year old atheist ""race realist""(that's what he likes to call himself) and Saudi Burger, an american expat in KSA.
