I like this one
"We" worshipped thicc before it was cool.
Being pagan doesn't make you interesting or cool, and Varg is atheist
daily reminder

christians love to blame european pagans for not having any definitive sources of their mythology and practices, but truth is that christianity itself is just a mishmash of whatever the early christian authorities found was useful for their agenda
For me it's not about being cool it is about tradition. Up north it's common to see spirits and have paranormal experiences, like your family warning you or dead people knocking on your door. Europe ignores the dead, asia doesn't
this. greek paganism promoted family values, critical thought and creativity. christianity made people here numb and braindead.
tell me about albanian paganism
>I don't marry you because you are not a christian woman
>pagan song
southron on holiday detected
How is greek paganism if you exclude the christianity? Apollo=Odin?
This video sums up NorthWestern paganism
Besides locals saying they are muslims the Saints like Prenda, Thana, Perendi etc are remnants of Gods
>brainlet: the post
don't EVER reply to my posts ever, t*Rkoid medshit
Isn't Odin more like the "all-father" and the "ancestor" in Norse mythology and also a very wise deity? In greek paganism I suppose the equivalent of that would be either athena or cronos.
also, neo paganism I wish was bigger but there is an organized movement that revolves around it. last year it was recognized as a "knwon religion" and its followers tend to adopt ancient greek virtues and ideals.
what about norse neo paganism? is there some sort of organization behind it? is it associated with the "right wing" or nordic supremacists? (ex. Varg)
>romans are evil because they conquered people
>vikings are the master race
Give us good vind Vēja māte as one day Baltic man shall return to Scandinavia, and this time we shall not fail!
real greek BM hours
Is Romuva the religion of the Baltics?
Swedes descended from Odin, Norwegians descended from Thor, Danes descended from Frey. This was accepted by the goði in Uppsala, the seat of the old religion. Our paganism was simply a form of ancestor-worship. Neo-paganism is quite LARPy
Sigurd Ring was a great old King
He ripped the dragon's upper wing
tfw Sigurd Ring was a dragonslayer
I wonder how pagans fare in countries outside of europe that are dominated by abrahamic religions. I heard there was some sort of Egyptian religion revival and Berber worship but dunno about that.
based
Yes ancient authentic Baltic religion, before counqests of Teutonic kinghts and eventual christianification, to Lutheranism as a resoult of Northern Crusades.

EIGHT FUCKING PERCENT AND GROWING
Thats quite a lot imo
weren't the baltic states the last ones to convert to christianity? (around the 15th-14th century, I believe)
wouldn't that mean you naturally have more pagan remnants?
Hello.
>post movements
No, they're all shit and desecrate the faith.
The Arabic "desu vault" is inshallah, monkey-kun.
Hungary is right, you know.
Yes, we have one of highest percentages of Pagans, in Europe, and we have deep culture of Pagan traditions like in Sweden and Finland.
Ⲁⲛⲟⲩⲃⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ desu.
>tfw they actually used thicc memes
Despite the growing following of native religions in europe, we see a rise of abrahamic ones in the far east. It's insane to see how people abandon the faith and culture of their people in favor of some religion that originated in a desert thousands of years ago.
The ankh not being fully cut out bothers me.
She was the original thicc mommy milf.
Your country has been Christian for an extremely long time, stop the LARP
to a certain extent, only famous people before claimed they descended from odin, such as our first king, a bunch of old kings of uppsala, etc. but we all pretty much descend from his son, heimdallr, who became the ancestor of the three main social classes of society (slaves/ workers, farmers, nobles)
I'm a heathen for myself and not anyone else.
>what about norse neo paganism? is there some sort of organization behind it?
There are more than one and they are LARPing and act as if they don't even know what the fuck they are doing. I've watched some videos and if they are supposed to be reviving the olden ways then they are committing sacrilege and shit.
>is it associated with the "right wing" or nordic supremacists? (ex. Varg)
Not the religious fellowships, but anything pagan gives off "nazi vibes" to the brainlet majority out there.
So has ours. Does that stop any of us from being pagans? No.
Greek pagan metal is breddy gud btw.
youtube.com
Isotheos is an ace album, btw.
>Does that stop any of us from being pagans?
Yeah it stops me because I'm not some faggy edgy LARPer. Swedish Empire was great because of fanatic Protestantism, all we achieved was thanks to Christianity.
That's the point of neo-paganism, user, reviving your people's ethnic religion
can you explain how they are commiting sacrilege? I legitimately don't know
Don't you mean jewcucks?
Arabs worshipped pagan gods for longer than greeks have
>LARP
Sick of this meme. And Christian Sweden was never great. It alienated its own population until widespread acceptance of the jewish cult from the Middle East, and after many hard years of meaningless deaths and infighting under Swedish rule we have a little empire for a few decades and then we get more hard years of meaningless deaths and infighting but under foreign rule and now the population is overwhelmingly atheist and the royal family are jews. Doesn't sound like it did well, does it?
>can you explain how they are commiting sacrilege? I legitimately don't know
It's been a long time since I watched them, but one thing I do remember are straight edge fags pouring the sacred mead from the horn on the ground instead of drinking it as the horn was passed from hand to hand. Oh, and the fact that some of the offerings are processed and chemical-ridden foods and drinks, essentially having them offer poison as gifts to the gods.
The Romans interpreted Odin as being similar to Mercury, but IMO, he is more like the authority of Zeus mixed with attributes of Chronos. Odin dying in Ragnarok would be like time itself coming to an end.
abracucks = followers of any abrahamic religion. particularly those who adopted it in favor of their own ethnic ones
Based Chr*Stmas tree
Ah alright
*non serviam starts playing*
European paganism is a lot more than ancestor worship you dumbfuck
He who created the universe is Yme, and the all-father is Odin, the mother Frigg. There's no organization behind it, it's just the seid.
this thread needs a jihad/crusade
Is animal or human sacrifice essential to paganism?
>reviving your people's ethnic religion
You peope's relgion is their ethnic religion. If they all switched to Vodou that would be their ethnic religion user.
No, it's not. However it used to be common to slaughter cows and have feast later.
Friendly reminder that Tyr > Odin.
Why is it not? were there pagan who didn't sacrifice animals? I want more details
He means a religion sprung from the nation, thus something created by and for a nation, and not something the nation adopted.
Ethnicity is often misused for nation, so forgive his mistake.
Ti, to anglify it, as 'Odin' already is.
It was just a local tradition like easter or christmas, they weren't hardcore cannibals
That wouldn't make Hadad very happy.
I'm not a pagan per se, but I respect what they are doing. The topic is very interesting. European paganism can be traced back to early indo-europeans.
en.wikipedia.org
Odin is the same figure as Jupiter or Zeus. Although he took on a more different role than they did in Norse culture.
stop worshipping god
follow the paths of your ancestors
Honestly, Odin seems to be more like Chronos in his attributes. He is like if you fused Chronos and Zeus together.
Friendly reminder, Islam is paganism too.
Honestly, Judaism started off as a particular branch of the Canaanite religion and later became "non pagan", Christianity and Islam are both offshoots of Judaism (with some Zoroastrianism mixed in).
Welcome fellow Greek, Hail Zeus, Hail Alexander.
Yeah, I didn't religion mention the reasoning of why he is different. It is believed Odin is the result of the combination of multiple gods over time. It's also possible that Norse were influenced by Suomenusko. In turn it's also possible that Mediterraneans were influenced by other groups along the sea such as the Canaanites.
>thus something created by and for a nation,
And taking other regions and making it your own or just plain liking it is just as legit.
>And taking other regions
What has geography gotten to with this?
Indo-European homeland according to the steppe hypothesis. Currently the leading theory on origin of Indo-Europeans.
Either that or Anatolia.

would shinto count as paganism?
Very aggressive and absolutist behavior to be honest, you could use some paganism to ease up on your ways.
Interesting to note that the ancestor of blue eyed people is believed to have originated in the same northern black sea area.
Are you serious? This picture is as pagan as it gets.
no, he was from western area, modern Romania and he was Western Hunter gatherer, it predates indo-Europeans.
In my mind that's included. northern coast vs southern coast.
>not worshipping all religions known to man
My initial "no"-ing of your 'thread theme'-post was because of the disgusting tumblrite "paganism" presented therein.
That was all.
t. pagan
Universalism is Christian and abrahamic.
Hail Odin
Seeal Odin
Do you even know the band? It's one of the most famous bands among pagans here the Netherlands and Denmark.
