Mind elaborating? I've heard that on the news a while ago, and the gist of it is that it's some sort of game where you get a "master" whom you listen to, and whom you must obey completely (with the last "level" being suicide).
I don't really know anything more than that, though. Our news might mis-report things.

Some guys involved kids in game through social networks. Kids getting tasks - first was something like paint a blue whale, then you need to paint whale with knife on your hand, then wake up at 4.30 am and listen certain depressive track for 30 minutes etc. There were few tasks with increasing complexity and danger. Last task was something like "step from roof of commiblock". And there were few cases of suicides.

They should all be relocated to Southern Europe to make them not depressed

So more or less what was reported here. Are any sort of warnings issued in schools regarding this game? If it made the rounds in Bulgaria, and teenage girls and boys are the ones that most frequently fall victim to this, then it follows that there'd be some warnings at the very least.
What is the appeal to this game to young people? What keeps them from stopping in time and avoiding death? Is there some sort of reward these guys say that they have for youngsters?

It gives their death attention, some sort of meaning and a sense of comradery.

I have a feeling it's not just that, myself. For some people, this will indeed be something that drives them, but they're likely not the minority. There seems to be a widespread appeal to this game, and had it been "death gives your life meaning" thing, I don't think it would've gotten this big in the first place.

I think there were no any special rewards. The process of the game was interesting in general and immersive. Media made a noise about this, reporters made investigations, after this police made demonstative arests with videos on all channels, they told how to recognize if your kid involved in such things (unusual, more closed behaviour). And I didn't hear about such games anymore. Also they made some changes to criminal codex to make it easier to put orginizers of such games into prison.

you are correct. in the game you have like a couch who gives you "crazy kewl tasks" like running across the street on a red sign, spending a night in a dumpster, posting edgy photos of yourself smoking or drinking and yeah the last one is literally suicide.
Its all started with the f57 sect. this guys right here (philipp lis) was in charge for killing this poor children. nothing to worry about he's in jail now.

I guess I see the appeal young people would find in this game. It does sound pretty interesting as a concept, but alas, it it is also ripe for abuse.
If used in a proper way, you could get shy and reluctant boys to change for the better and grow a pair. You could become their secret coach and make them do daring (but not life-endagering) tasks. But these things are not appealing, and they're too "safe" for a teenager. A teenager would very much rather do something novel and exciting like drinking 5 energy drinks at once, which could potentially kill them, cutting themselves, or pissing on a neighbour's door, which is just nasty. There's a sense of thrill to the whole thing as far as I understand, and that's what keeps people playing.
I'm glad that this game seems to have died down, though. Lives are lives, and it's shit to see lives with so much potential go down the shitter.

I'll be a bit biased here since I haven't got all that much experience with Russians, but the ones I've seen in Bulgaria, at least, have a bit of a "Asian" look to them. Not as drastic as the pic you replied to, but they just stick out when they're here. In a single sentence, they remind me of Germans, but more neotenic and youthful-looking. Their eye folds are also different to the ones in Bulgaria.
I know a guy that hails from Magadan, and although he had a teenage kid when we met, he looked in his late 20s. Tall, blonde, but also, extremely youthful-looking. Knew how to be friendly without overstepping his boundaries, too. Guy just doesn't seem to age a bit, and I've known him for a decade now.
