What happens here?

I can only talk about the Balearic Islands since I'm from there:
Mallorca: "capital" island. Lot's of party tourism, also some family and backpacking tourism.
Ibiza (I was born here): like Mallorca but less family and backpacking and even more party, drug, sex and gay tourism.
Formentera: can't arrive by plane, so they manage to avoid most of the "party" people altogether. You go there if you want to have nice rides on a bicycle along the seaside and whatnot
Menorca: most of it's tourism is mellow, family type.
Cabrera: nobody lives there (that I know of, maybe there might be a few guards or something)

Also: I only mentioned tourism because that's most of what they've got going on for them. Industry is mostly dead (not that there was much before). Most things are excessively expensive, due to added travel time + excessive demand cuz of tourism. Food in a supermarket might be 5x times the price of that in mainland Spain, for example. Also: population is highly mixed.

All the rich people from italy spend their summer there partying, actually.

Oh, and as pointed out we have one of the most corrupt provincial governments in Spain.

Mostly mainland Spaniards (my case), then Europeans, then non-European Mediterraneans, then the rest. Well, it was like that when I left, but at the time a big, BIG migration of Ecuadorians. I don't really know how it's like right now.
