economic problems are almost entirely boomer caused though.
especially with real estate, something like 500 properties were sold to non-citizens last year in the whole country, and of the Chinese that did manage to buy these most of them are just students voiding paying rent for the 8 years of them and their siblings degree.
real problem is we had enough immigration during the GFC to keep property prices tricking boomers into thinking its some kind of golden investment, and now councils and just about every other bureaucratic body that holds some power (whose senior posts tend to be occupied by.. guess who) is invested in keeping rent and property prices only going up
we cant even build apartment buildings taller than 6 floors anymore because it will get in the way of some old farts sunlight for 2 hours of the fucking day
