Having no term limit is for brainlets.
Washington set a precedent that was intended to stop dictatorships (monarchies). The average citizen of any democracy is a moron who will just automatically vote for someone after they've been under their boot long enough.
The founders understood that while democracy sounds great morally, it needs rules to prevent endless mob rule.

This is such a tiring conversation. I even fucking remember when repubs wanted Dubya Jr. as president. Before that it was dems with Clinton. If Americans truly want this (which I think is a good idea imo) they need a year where no president or vice president is in office and the senate assumes those responsibilities. It's the only way to kill current partisanship/ the balance of power from the debate.
