Hi
How are you today?

I guess it's common in here but because I rarely go to social gatherings I don't recall ever witnessing it.

Do you have any India descendents in DR? What can you tell us about them?

Belize does but there all from east india some of them are really fucking hot
really common here

They are a very small group so there's not a lot to say about them.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indians_in_the_Dominican_Republic

The only time I remember seeing any Indians in the country was a few weeks ago when 2 of them aproached me at a mall and told me I looked like Sai Baba.

it's a wonderful day here in the sunshine state, how is the weather where you guys are?

Attached: 1482256276737.png (727x598, 21K)

really nice today actually but the sand on the beach is too fucking hot to walk on

Cold and raining

Given that you guys live in black majority countries and will probably never face racism, what do you make of Black Lives Matter and other stuff going on in the US? Do you feel a sense of solidarity with African Americans?

Is there a group in your countries that suffers racism - native people, hispanic, I donno?

Today i have a birthday party of a friend, where the only person i know is him, and even worse my brother is also going.

I will once more be there quiet and alone with no one to talk to. I hate this kind of birthday parties where i don't know anyone

Anyone else think cuba's government is going to fall over and it is going to have all sorts of weird effects on the Caribbean?

nah most belizeans think Americans are retarded and the mayans get treated the worst here
give him birthday sex
i don't mind cubans they are really nice even the blacks

Why do you rarely come to /carib/ now, SL?
I'm not a faggot and neither is him

you monster.
We have a milder version here, but never seen real daggering like in the videos.
Feeling really sleepy today. How about you?
It's pretty nice I guess.
Blacks are actually minority here and are still somewhat victims of racism, but not in the degree you see in the US, where institutional racism is common, not here tho.
I guess immigrants suffer a bit of it, but not as much.
Cross your fingers you hit it up with someone and chat through the night and are not bored to death staring at the floor.
I don't see that happening anytime soon, but if it does, it would indeed affect the region a whole load, it might replace the DR as the biggest economy, many foreign businesses would probably look at cuba over the rest of the crabs, tourism in the rest of the region might take a small hit, etc. It depends on how it plays out.

It's pretty sunny again so it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and avoid human interaction.

Here the population is more mixed than full black, but to answer your questions I think the whole BLM movement is a joke since it basically took a broader problem (police brutality) and tried to paint it as strictly a racial problem between blacks and whites, so any solution proposed that panders to their cause is unable to solve the core issue (civilians having an inadequate response to authorithy and police using excesive use of force to counter it).

As for groups that face discrimination here the most obvious example would be the Haitians but thats due to xenophobia more than racism. Actual black dominicans don't face as much discrimination.

Unless the government suddenly loses a bunch of popular support I don't really see the situation changing much.

I'm feeling pretty relaxed, but after staying inside my house for like 4 days straight I'll finally have to go out with my dad to buy stuff at the supermarket.

>I'm feeling pretty relaxed
that's good.
Ahh, are you a fellow neet shut-in too? Last time I went was like 3 days ago too to go to the doctor.

How difficult is it to be like that in the DR?

why don't you guys join up with /cum/? we lost a lot of posters due to the /dixie/ split and you guys' general is pretty much dead

NEVER SURRENDER

I'm currently on vacation from university for around 2 weeks so that's why I've managed to get away with staying in my house for so long ( though the only places I really go to are the university and supermarket and that's due to necesity so I'm still pretty much a shut in).

As far as being a NEET I guess that would depend on how willing or how much can your family afford to support you if you don't show any signs of wanting to study further/get a job, though in most cases I don't think they would last for long before they start pestering you to get some kind of income.

cum culture is too different from crab. It seems chaotic and uncomfy, crab is slower and comfier and there's always just few topics of conversation and not a whole load of them getting lost.
What do you study senpai?

My family is not an issue since apart from pestering to move in to live with them and forcing me to do shit every once in a while, they don't care much since they know I will never work or study again in the near future. I have some money I carefully control and manage so that it can last for as long as possible. I wonder if it would be cheaper in the DR for me so that I can continue living comfortably for the next 20 years or so. How reliable online shopping services over there? I know colmados can deliver any shit to your home, but what about other things not available on there. What about homes and security? and medical services/insurance? how good are they?

What is Carile?

Are there no mandatory cursive lessons in portuguese elementary schools??

>What do you study senpai?
Computer Systems Engineering

>How reliable online shopping services over there?
I've never shopped online myself but from what I've seen it seems to be reliable.

>I know colmados can deliver any shit to your home, but what about other things not available on there.
For that you'll probably have to go out to a supermarket or something, so if you don't wanna have to deal much with public transport you'll have have to look for a place to stay close to a commercial area.

>What about homes and security?
From what I've heard prices for houses/apartments (atleast in Santo Domingo) have been rising lately, so finding a good place to stay at an affordable price is getting harder.

For security, as long as you are in a nice neighboorhoud and don't do dumb stuff like leaving your windows open at night or taking shady public transport(...) you should hopefully be good.

>and medical services/insurance?
Medical services aren't the best but they get the job done I guess. Medical insurance should be affordable but finding a place where they accept can sometimes be a hassle.

That's the spirit

>Computer Systems Engineering
That's pretty neat. Will you oractice your profession over there or are you planning on going somewhere else?
>For that you'll probably have to go out to a supermarket or something, so if you don't wanna have to deal much with public transport you'll have have to look for a place to stay close to a commercial area.
Are there no supermarkets that have online shopping and delivery services?

What about living in the countryside? is it dangerous? is there a place where I can have all the comforts of urban areas without all the crowd and bustle.

Also are periodical scheduled brownouts still a problem? last time I was there it was insane how unreliable electricity was.

have you ever met a person from the crab irl over there? how about things like crab restaurants or shops, or anything? Do you think it would be profitable to set up a crab shop or restaurant over there?

Maybe a crab club or some kind of laid back pub where you could eat something while having a drink and listening to music could do well. I haven't personally met any crabs, I think i've heard some carib inspired music in some corners of some clubs but I might be remembering wrong.

>Will you oractice your profession over there or are you planning on going somewhere else?
My dad wants me to do a master's degree abroad so once I finish university that's probably what I'll do. After that I haven't decided whether or not I'll come back or if I'll prefer to look for work abroad.

>Are there no supermarkets that have online shopping and delivery services?
I had not heard about them in the country before but it turns out there are:

>What about living in the countryside? is it dangerous? is there a place where I can have all the comforts of urban areas without all the crowd and bustle.
I guess it's not that dangerous but I highly doubt you'll find a place with all the comodities of the city.

>Also are periodical scheduled brownouts still a problem? last time I was there it was insane how unreliable electricity was.
It has definitively improved over the years so now there are less areas with scheduled brownouts/blackouts. Still there are times where for a few days the electricity will go out for atleast a few minutes, up to a couple of hours, but they have been getting increasingly rare.

It's getting warmer, the snow has been gone for a while and it looks like in a month or so it will look like summer.

>it will look like summer.
So instead of being very, very cold will only be very cold

Just about, if it gets over 25C it is considered very hot here.

The sad life of a snownigger

>be portuguese
>there is a little snow and it's a little cold
>die
portugalresident.com/arctic-weather-death-toll-197-more-die-in-portugal-in-last-two-days

>According to national tabloid Correio da Manhã, 197 more people have died than they did during the same period last year.
That is fake news.

Also, i'm going out for a birthday party right now and it's 5ºC outside, and i don't want to go to the cold

>it's 5ºC outside
Same here, imagine that

Manatees are alright but seals are better
