Splendid allocation of resources.

When the board of directors at blue cross decide as opposed to a council of doctors is it still considered a death panel?

Quick rundown?

One Angloid down, still millions left to go

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfie_Evans_case

What am I supposed to understand? Who the fuck is Alfie Evans?

>Baby has terminal illness
>NHS say treatment will not improve his quality of life
>Parents want to take child over seas to get experimental treatment
>Doctors say no
>Judge says no
>Twitter mob suddenly become medical experts

Poor Alfie

>Experimental treatment exists
>A random stranger can deny your child another chance at the only existence there is
Great country.

Doesn't twitter ban those people?

The child would have likely dies being transported. Read the court documents. He literally couldn't be handled without violently contorting and hurting himself.
The parents wanted to send him to Italy. A country with a healthcare system more "socialist" than the NHS.

A similar situation happened last year too.

If he's going to die anyway what's so bad in at least trying?

Because he'd be a vegetable even if it was a success.

one distinction is that a third party has offered to pay for the entire procedure, the are no economic limitations on this case

What's it matter if he dies anyway? Trying some experimental treatment might have been useful for the future cases

UK medical care and justice systems are so appalling. They assigned a team of 22 doctors for the delivery of the royal baby, but they do not have a decency to spend a little time in trying to save baby Alfie's life.
The British all should be extremely angry about this unfair treatment. They all should uprise against this injustice in honor of Alfie's short life.

In the case of terminal cases a doctor's responsibility shifts to palliative care. The doctor's in Italy said all they could offer was to prolong his life not to cure or "save" him.
>its okay to let people die because of economic considerations
>judgements based on expert analysis and rule of law should be thrown out
Am I taking crazy pills here?

I'm an EMT and transporting comatose patients is daily routine in the western world. I put tiny preterm kids on planes and they are fine.

They said he would die within hours of coming off life support, he lived 5 days. So obviously they lied. It's clear he died because they withheld oxygen, food and water.

The cases you mentioned don't have violent spasms come as result of being moved around.

If Alfie was Kate's child, there would have been no court ordered restrictions of taking him out of the country for help.

Guess a working class life ain't worth extending in the UK.

>Jow Forumslacks are still mad that their eceleb got in trouble
The great irony is that he hates England so much even though he wouldn't have broken any laws had he lived there.

The government wants to make the point that they are your rulers, and you don't matter. The government is terrified the boy might survive, or recover under treatment from somebody else, and that would embarrass and humiliate a government official.

it was extended for over a year. it would have just got progressively worse. he had zero chance of recovery as his brain was literally mush.

Disgusting and heartbreaking that the UK govt refused this child food in his final days but refused to let the parents try

They must be the only western country to still have literal propaganda posters

The best explanation I have heard as to why the British government wouldn’t let Alfie go abroad for treatment is that they were afraid he might be successfully treated, which would cause them too much embarrassment.

5 judges of the european court of justice said their opinion on another case, and that opinion was that death from dehydration is inhumane.

Big government is unironically bad

No, the kid was permanently a vegetable, if this experimental treatment would have worked, and have extended his 'life', then who would foot the cost of an entire lifetime of 24/7 intensive medical care?

It's not a case of doing some 'experimental' treatment and he's fine, he was effectively dead coming out the womb.

RIP Alfie Evans, may he be happy in heaven and free from suffering.

Someone explain Scottish sectarianism for me.

It's fucking retarded the SNP are not even a nationalist party what a fucking joke

Someone who isn’t a yank.

>parents are working class thickos
Every time

Should have studied the country before moving there Muhammad

protestant and catholic hatred from irish tribes manifests in the old firm and spread like wild fire
shits funny but blew out of proportion

Irish immigrants were Catholic. Scottish loyalists were Protestant. Scottish loyalists did not like Irish Catholics because the Irish were anti-queen and the Scottish were pro-queen. This spread into their football when an Irish priest established Celtic F.C. which became a bastion of Irishness and Catholicism and fostered a rivalry with the staunchy loyalist and Protestant Rangers F.C.

So not Catholics and Protestants in Scotland don't like each other because football, mostly. It's just an extension of NI sectarianism that got imported over in the 1800s.

As a person, he was already dead. The body was nothing but an empty shell.

>MRI scan taken in August 2017 revealed that "70% of Alfie's brain had been destroyed"
>a fourth scan taken in February 2018 showed "almost total destruction of Alfie's brain, with fluid identical to water or Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) now present where brain matter should be".
>[the] MRI scan taken in February 2018 revealed that "[Alfie's] brain [was] entirely beyond recovery" and that "the brain was now only able to generate seizure" with "progressive destruction of the white matter of the brain which Dr R interpreted as now appearing almost identical to water and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)."
>"by the end of February the connective pathways within the white matter of the brain which facilitate rudimentary sensation – hearing, touch, taste and sight, had been obliterated. They were no longer even identifiable on the MRI scan".

>haha let's nuke countries I don't like
>throws a shitstorm over removing life support from a braindead kid with zero chance of recovery

see No, there was no experimental treatment in this case.

>>Parents want to take child over seas to get experimental treatment
You are confusing this case with the Charlie Gard one.

That's sad
So creepy how people can continue living with assistance having lost complete brain function

>Brits will defend this
>As a person, he was already dead. The body was nothing but an empty shell.

You were right op.

this is why chavs shouldn't be allowed to breed

same shit as in ireland, but centred around rangers and celtic

Some Jews started putting it on their own names as a reaction against Jow Forums's use of it to 'out' them. I guess it's a "yeah, I'm a Jew, so what?" kind of thing.

russian bot pls go

In the Netherlands insurances will cover any proven method, anywhere in the world. But not experimental treatments.

But the parents can decide who they want to be treated by. So if the parents want to jump through all kinds of hoops nobody has a say over it.

>the brain was now only able to generate seizure
And there are people who defend keeping this person "alive".

Na, Italy had offered him citizenship so he could fly over.

I know, but the doctors in Italy weren't offering any experimental treatment, just continued life support.

And these idiots think they are morally superior while they'll only giving false hope to Alfie's parents. Fuck them.

Fucking Disgrace

Attached: 'Murika.jpg (419x820, 120K)

Most of his brain tissue has died. Even if he survived he would be a vegetarian.

Fair enough refusing to keep him "alive", but why not just let them take him to Italy if 70% of his brain matter was destroyed?

It was seen as inhumane to keep him alive in the state he was in.

Also, I don't know if it factored into the court decision or not, but the doctors in Italy had noted problems with transporting him to the hospital there:
>In September 2017, Italian doctors from Bambino Gesù Hospital produced an assessment report on the possibility of transferring Alfie to Italy. According to their report on the case, they could offer prolonged ventilator support, with a surgical tracheostomy and would remove a nasogastric tube, replacing it with a gastrostomy. During assessment, Alfie suffered "epileptic seizures induced by propreoseptiv stimuli", the report warned "due to stimulations related to the transportation and flight, those seizures might induce further damage to the brain, [putting] the whole procedure of transportation at risk."
TL;DR - just moving him was enough to induce seizures

Because that would require another unnecessary operation at the expanse of NHS, which he might not have survived.

>when Americans start trying to inject their bizarro 'christian' attitudes onto medicine

Attached: 389474.gif (450x188, 971K)

Just let him die by then, don't prolong his existence. Going to Italy in his state would do nothing to improve it or provide any better care that matters, and using taxpayer money on a vegetable with virtually no hope for a healthy life.

there isn't anything bizarre about christian charity or morality you mong

You people aren't Christian though, you're ***Christian***.

Was the NHS actually going to fund the transportation process though? I'm not saying the idea of taking him to Italy was good, but if the parents and the Italians agreed to it and the NHS wasn't funding it, then I could understand it.

>rape white kids over decades, no one gives a shit
>try to make a trip to Italy with your brain dead kid, all hands needed

Attached: americans-assholes-of-the-world.jpg (1461x1491, 568K)

They should be allowed to take him away since he is already a walking dead body but I don't think it's such a big deal.

Please don't lump all of us in with Cletus.

I'm quite reactionary and all but I just don't see the correlation here.

It's not very Christian to invade countries in order to keep the holy land under jewish control.

>white

Don't you love it how everyone apparently hates us and wants us to die out, yet they do nothing about it?

Beyond a reasonable doubt, this

I don't see how the NHS is in the wrong here

I'd be offended if I didn't feel the same way about europeans

Why does Jow Forums care so much about some braindead potato kid? Multiple threads on this every day.

because conservatives saw fit to turn a vegetable into a political football.

Because everyone though Sarah Palin was crazy for bringing up the idea of death panels.

The same sarah palin that sells flat tummy tea on instagram?

>brain tissue destroyed
>turns him into a vegetarian
Fucking lol

>Pope: "Ree sanctity of human life reeee"
>*Whispers in the ear of the Italian government*
>Kid is offered Italian citizenship

>Italy isn't controlled by the Vatic.......

Jesus.
Why even go on at this point?
I mean if I had a child and a doctor gave that diagnosis I surely wouldn't want to prolong its life.
