Romanian is a romance language tho, it shouldn't be any more difficult to learn than french.

I already speak french, might not be so hard after all. Maybe I'll retire there but spending your working years there seems like a poor choice.

Sparse and every german here knows how to speak romanian when he needs to, it's useful, practical and a sign of respect as romanians too learn german when they go to Germany or spanish when they go to Spain.

We start learning foreign languages (usually english and french/german/italian/spanish/nordic ones/asian ones) in kindergarden, then we start learning romanian in school along with 2 other languages.
