Sorry to hear. Try having an early one tonight.

This is quite conerning.

Was in about three stages of dreams within dreams there. The last one was horrible since I was thirsty but couldn't drink due to being asleep.

Thirsty as your dream-self or thirsty in the real world whilst sleeping?

Just get glasses desu.

I already have glasses, it's just worrying that my sight keeps getting worse and worse and I'll keep having to get stronger and stronger glasses.

Is it possible that you could just get surgery in a few years time to fix them or is that not how it works?

Irlandez imbecil

I'm not sure, I'm hoping that's how that laser eye surgery stuff works. It's expensive either way, so I'd have to save up money first

I've been short sighted for nearly 9 months now, still haven't visited an eye doctor

I'm like 21 so I though I'd avoid these symptons.

>eye doctor
You mean an optician?

In recent days or just in general?

That's sounds horrible to know you're losing eyesight like that. It's a blessing in a way that I've always been short sighted.
I do know people whose sight has gotten better over the years rather than worsened as well though.

>Do you wear glasses or contacts?
Glasses but I rarely wear them. My vision's fine except when it comes to reading things far away which made taking notes in school a pain until I realised I needed them. These days I only really wear them to the cinema.

>Thought of getting the pew pew?
As much as I like lasers I don't think it's worth the hassle or expense.

yawn

>trying to make others yawn
Highly rude.

He says goodbye to /éire/ with what best can be described as emotion. He doesn't feel much, yet finds himself in miss of the banter and the overall aura of feeling superior to sad faggots, failed animators, queers repeating the LC and shit-eating mechanics.

He knows he must go. He has more important things in his life. His time on Jow Forums was ephemeral, transient if you will. It was an enjoyable deviation from his life of success. He has never been anything but a success, but Jow Forums made helped him feel what the masses feel. He was here as an experiment, trying to feel out new ways to control people for his upcoming domination of European politics.

He sits inside his palatial home, after a hard day's work, and surveys the land. He looks at the political landscape. Everything. No stone is left unturned. He likes to stay abreast of current events.

With a cold heart, he says goodbye: goodbye to all the losers and sad cunts. The words coming from his mouth mesmerise even his fiercest critics. They're moved to tears. Ellen drops his animation portfolio, realising he will never craft anything as beautiful as Howth's words or even pass his shit little FAS FETAC course. Juniper will always be mentally deficient and will cling onto sanity through alcohol. Tommy will always act the hard man even though he is a shaft-gripping, shit-devouring aberration. Tsukihi will fall short of his goal of becoming a doctor and become a lowly pharmacist, all the while dreaming and cogitating on what could have been. Jaggy will come out to his left-wing mother that brainwashed him and she will accept him for being a pansy. AA will finally live vicariously through ponies and other cartoon shit and will forever be a slave to his sister, who beats him.

Those are all individual experiences, but one overall experience they will all have is this: they will all know HOWTH was right, that he truly knew the future. They will know how intelligent he was and admire his foresight.

Bye

During Sean South why does the crowd yell "You're on your own" after the line There were men from Dublin and from Cork, Fermanagh and Tyrone

Don't really know, but if I had to guess it's because the "free state" did nothing to help the IRA.

Ah that makes sense. Also what do they say after "join that gallant band of Plunkett, Pierce and Tone?"

I don't know which video/version you're refering to.

I hear it on a lot of live versions, just can't make it out.

Is this spam?

*10,000 word spam war over how Jow Forums was founded as an anime website and therefore anime spam can never be said to be detracting from a thread*

I suppose you much prefer spam of the 3D anglo slag variety.

I have no problem with anime on /éire/. But variety is the spice of life. If people are going to post 2D sluts, they should at least make it interesting.

You're bringing such a high level of discussion to this thread. Keep it up.

Don't expect this type of person to be interesting.

>Don't expect this type of person to be interesting.
What do you mean? If somebody attaches an anime pic to their post it suddenly becomes less interesting? What a strange world you live in.

You're illustrating my point.
You're too dull to be coherent and pedantic at the same time, so when you disagree with someone you present babble with the seriousness of someone who's saying the most important things in the conversation.

Imagine if we had gotten that. Would have doubled our total post count for the week.

>going to the cinema
Sounds like a bit of a you know what activity, wouldn't you agree?
>I don't think it's worth the hassle or expense
What if it made you more attractive to the you know who?

>so when you disagree with someone you present babble with the seriousness of someone who's saying the most important things in the conversation.
Sounds suspiciously like the post you just made.

why do most Irish people not speak Irish?

Same reason you don't speak Mapudungun

Where would be the fun in that?

Historical oppression combined with modern capitalism which places little value in culture.

But I don't wear them in public anyways.

>Error: Upload failed
Apparently not.

>But I don't wear them in public anyways.
Your eyesight must not be that bad then.
I couldn't tell someone's face unless they were as close to me as someone sitting next to me on a bus.

Too easy and yet so hard.

Yet.

>But I don't wear them in public anyways.
And it's not like women care that much about glasses anymore. If you're attractive without glasses, you'll be attractive with glasses. If you're unattractive with glasses, you'll be unattractive without glasses.

>Your eyesight must not be that bad then
As I said before it's fine except when reading things at a distance.

>Too easy and yet so hard
What did he mean by this?

>it's not like women care that much about glasses anymore
Did they ever or was that just something perpetrated by American high school movies?

>If you're attractive without glasses, you'll be attractive with glasses
Unless they're really hideous glasses.

>If you're attractive without glasses, you'll be attractive with glasses. If you're unattractive with glasses, you'll be unattractive without glasses.
Not really.
I think on one level people can tell "this is an attractive person beneath these glasses", but the visual presentation of the face is completely different with glasses.
It'd be like saying that haircuts, beards, mustaches, piercings, earrings, hats, and so on don't affect a person's level of presented attractiveness.

>Did they ever or was that just something perpetrated by American high school movies?
There was a time when there was little variety in glasses types, and they were almost all invariably "dorky". Times have changed.

>but the visual presentation of the face is completely different with glasses.
I disagree. Unless you're talking about those huge, thick-framed ones that hipsters wear. Reasonably sized glasses don't alter somebody's appearance all that much.

;)

>Reasonably sized glasses don't alter somebody's appearance all that much.
I would argue that big framed glasses actually alter someone's appearance less, because they are easier to sub-consciously separate from the coherent whole of a person's face. Smaller glasses obscure less of a person's face, with less clear borders, and so create a larger uncanny valley effect where you can't differentiate between the artificial and the real.
Or perhaps it's just that small rectangular glasses are the de jure unobtrusive choice that would not be seen as a "fashion choice", and just blend into the background of a person's face because of that.

Glasses definitely change how you look, the size and colour of them and your hair can accentuate or minimize your eyebrows or cheek bones

As someone who wears them all the time I think I look weird without them now

youtube.com/watch?v=_k3n5me4Rns

I often wonder how attractive women perceive unattractive men.

It's weird when you see someone who usually wears glasses be without them. Their eyes look too small without them.

For me it's the opposite.

The reactions to the "incel" thing in Canada are an interesting case in point.

twitter.com/robinhanson/status/989535565895864320

I wonder if the whole incel thing will go mainstream? That would certainly be interesting.

>I wonder if the whole incel thing will go mainstream? That would certainly be interesting.
It's surprising, but Incels basically achieved more of a breakthrough in conceptual sociological language in a decade of anonymous mentally-ill edgeposting than the entire sociological academic establishment has since it was institutionalised.
It's interesting too in that it describes both something that is newly pertinent, but at the same time something fundamental in human nature which has existed in the past and existed throughout non-western cultures without interruption.
Incels basically cucked these mostly Marxist academics by sort of fulfilling Marxist principles within their own "class", as it were. Ironic.

And to answer your question, no, I doubt it will go "mainstream". The biggest reason is that if the phenomenon the concept describes was acknowledged, mainstream hegemonic ideologies would find a rhetorical or conceptual space they cannot enter without crippling themselves.

Hate passive-aggressiveness.

Have any of you seen the film I Kill Giants?

No.

This is a very clever post.

I can't believe Hiro singlehandedly fixed /éire/ by killing off the avatarfags

What's your definition of an avatarfag? Because I'm almost certain you've got it wrong.

TLDR: The people who facilitate the "mainstreaming" of culture will not mainstream the concept of "involuntary celibacy" because admitting that it exists is as harmful for sexual liberalism as an idea as admitting that poverty or economic non-mobility exists is for economic liberals.

This anti-anime user is making me want to post anime more than ever. I can't wait until I can post images again.

Those retards that blog about their lives with anime pics attached. Not a single post can be made without their avatarfagging.
>inb4 hurr durr it's only avatarfagging if it's a consistent image
don't care for the time being their blogging is gone and /éire/ is actually usable.

>because admitting that it exists is as harmful for sexual liberalism as an idea as admitting that poverty or economic non-mobility exists is for economic liberals.
What makes you think that?

You're an avatarfag since all you do is complain about anime

>>inb4 hurr durr it's only avatarfagging if it's a consistent image
>don't care
Do you enjoy being wrong?

>/éire/ is actually usable.
People posting anime pics makes /éire/ unusable for you? Yet you're still capable of bitching and moaning about it whenever there's anime in the thread. If you really hated anime, you'd be nowhere to be seen when even a single anime image has been posted in an /éire/ thread (like this one). You really are a strange individual.

>/éire/ is actually usable.
Except it's boring right now. All we're doing is indulging your meta bitching.

The core premise of sexual liberalism is that people will level out at a sustainable level of happiness (utilitarianism) if maximum freedom is given in sexual matters.
Saying that "involuntary celibacy" is significant is saying that in fact this situation creates a state of unresolvable upset for significant quantities of people.

It's something that is hard to avoid acknowledging, too. The idea that everyone squares off and gets their "Disney prince/princess" is not something that's compatible with reality, if it ever was, even when monogamy, the assignment of sexual partners on a 1:1 ratio, was the culturally enforced standard.

Makes sense. Now I want it to go mainstream even more despite the lack of feasibility.
