the part that really makes my blood boil is the targeting of underage kids. JPM dropped apparently due to slightly missing profit targets (very slightly). They beat on revenue and earnings per share targets.

Wells Fargo may also have to pay a fine, so it dropped as well.

In a true bull market, those things should not have had such a drastic impact on the market.

Frankly, I think the more likely reason things dropped was not because of some fundamental reason (that's just being used as some explanation by commentators/media). Sellers are clearly trying to maintain the downward trend line on the daily timeframe (which can be seen on the Dow/SP500). It was a case of "selling the news".

This officially a bear market, in my mind. Earnings will not do anything to help if this is the precedent that's set.

Still going to maintain a net long bias for the rest of earnings season, but I believe this stuff doesn't bode well at all.
