Why do Irish Americans seem to be more cringey about their ancestry than the Irish who settled in other countries?
I never see Irish Canadians, Irish Australians and even Irish people living in the UK making a big deal about it

Because there's way more Irish people in America than anywhere else, thus statistically more sperglords screaming about m'famine.
>14 million in the UK
What? Really?
Yep, almost a quarter of the UK has Irish heritage. This is where all the super poor Irish went who couldn't afford a ticket to anywhere else
I've noticed that all Irish Americans in the south are weird skinny cretins or these fat white women with tattoos and black husbands
what is northern ireland for 200 alex
>fat white women with tattoos and black husbands
That's most white women in the south tho.
But it's true, the Irish were the group most likely to mix with blacks. It's why Martin Luther King Jr. was an 1/8 Irish.
NI only has 3 million people.
Easy--back in the 1800s, American politicians loved stirring up Irish nationalism among the immigrant community to annoy Britain.
Didn't realise so many paddies went to Oz.
It was a prison colony lad, of course it's paddy as fuck
Also a lot of Irish nationalist leaders went into exile in the US.
And then they say shit like "We're actually MORE irish than the irish".
I forgot why, cause I didn't save the image but man did it piss me off. Fucking fries.
Is there a reason why all the major Catholic priests in all those countries are Irish?
Because the Irish are majority Catholic whereas Anglos are mostly Protestant. So most Catholics in places like the UK are Irish.
Americans are just more cringey in general
>umm, actually I'm not white I'm umm jewish
>actually I'm 61.23% white my ancestors were vikings and romans
>I'm half mexican, which means I'm descended from Montezuma Leader of the aztecs
>fuck white people ugh they are so awful, except my white mom she cool
>Bruh Wakanda is real you fuckin raycis I'm from there
>I may have light light light brown skin but I'm 100% African Lion senpai my ancestors were Eqyptian phaorahs check your privelege whiteboi
>I'm Cuacasian. Where is Caucasia? Doesn't matter I'm from there trust me bro
No, the Catholic base has traditionally been Italian, Mexican and Polish at least in the USA
I think it's because for a lot of them it was a choice. Like many 'Irish Americans' have just as much German, British, French ancestry, etc, but actively act as though they're mom and dad were fresh of the Mayflower. it's weird
They came later, the Irish were there far before them due the British Empire.

Most of those names sound pretty Irish to me except for that one Italian.
Millions of Irish moved here, mostly to London, Glasgow and Liverpool.
And then you sent them to war and started shaming them for being Catholics that supported Mexico.
Did they stay Catholic? And do most of them still identify as Irish or are they just Catholic versions of the assimilated population?
Some do, Glasgow and Liverpool had and to an extent still have a history of sectarian violence.
Those numbers in the Wikipedia box are from "heritage" estimates though, those people have long since lost that identity and rarely even know much about it.
