Secondly as far as I am aware, Japan's damage was minimal in comparison. More like an occupation than colonialism. The only country it really affected was Korea. But I'm pretty sure they returned everything taken from Korea

Japan's colonialism was pretty much the same as the one carried out by European countries and the United States after the Industrial Revolution (e.g. all the shit done to Africa after 1885), Japan's effect was minimal in the sense that it started way later and it basically stopped in 1942-1945.
