In what way, shape or form could Britain have defeated Germany? The best scenario for Britain I can think of is one where they convince Germany that the cost of an invasion of their island is too great, and get them to agree to an armistice.

The Soviets had to make the greatest sacrifices but it was undoubtedly a joint victory, arguably the USSR wouldn't have prevailed without the Western Allies.
Without the massive losses of the Eastern Front any seaborne attack on German-held Europe would've been a suicide mission.

There's no way UK could defeat Germany alone in WW1 or WW2. At best they could avoid being invaded. In WW1, even with France, one of the biggest land army, it was quite close.
In WW2, without USSR involvement, most of the German army would be intact and Hitler would have probably tried to invade Britain with all he got.
That's because the British policy is to maintain a balance in continental Europe. It serves their interest, so they will always ally and fund the "other side". It was against France during centuries, then Germany recently.

USSR contributed to the victory, no doubt, but considering the western front, pacific front, lend-lease and so in the main contribution and the victory over nazis in general definitely belongs to Anglos.

Not really. The turning point was America joining the war. If Japan attacked Soviet Union instead of America and invaded it from the east, there is no way the USSR stood a chance against both nazis and japs, and the USSR would have been completely annihilated in a matter of a couple of years.

Pretty much this. We actually could have gone for Berlin but it was decided the loss of life would be too high and our higher ups thought the Nazis would make their last stand in Austria not Berlin.
