We don't celebrate Labor Day on May 1 because that's commieshit.
As for the rest of Jow Forums, enjoy your day off.

Thanks for day off America

you're right, we just celebrate it in September you libertardian
This is the definitive shithole vs good country map.
But user, in my country it was the Nazi's who made Labour day an official holiday in 1942
Grover Cleveland made it a Federal holiday on the first weekend of September. If I remember correctly, this was because May 1 was the anniversary of the Haymarket Riots several years earlier and they didn't want to be seen as glorifying that event or drawing attention to it.
Its aka May Day aka Mayday aka what plane say when they crash. It used to be the big "spring has sprung" day in Europe they'd all go get flowers and put them on top of may pole. Lot of people interpret may pole as a big phallic symbol for fertility (more kids, more crops etc). But I think its kinda annoying when people try to make everything a penis symbol, not every tall object is about penises. My 2c.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
TWO days off :^)
>In Poland, May Day is closely followed by May 3rd Constitution Day. These two dates combined often result in a long weekend called Majówka, which may last for up to 9 days from the 28th of April to the 6th of May, at the cost of taking only 3 days off. People often travel, and Majówka is unofficially considered the start of barbecuing season in Poland.
This year it's 28-6 off for 3 days
Based 2018

Ohh, land of the free, I guess.
We do, just in September. ;)
>Saudi Arabia
>Sudan
>South Korea
>Nedermark
what do these countries have in common??
Communism is good
Exactly why your grandfather fought to keep it out of Funland. ;)
Family means nothing to communists.
Wtf i love Denmark now.
Well no, the family is a bourgeois institution. Unless it's a gay family, which is a-ok.
It's basically a student celebration here. It's an excuse for uni students to wear a silly hat and get as wasted as they possibly can in public.
Interesting that the Caucasus states don't celebrate May Day when they used to be part of the Soviet Union.
